New to smartphones, question about the sim only offerings.
Hi all,
I was wondering if you guys could help me. I'm thinking of buying one of those samsung s4 smartphones. But me being still in the stone age with my "dumbphone", its all new'ish to me. I ideally wanted to get the s4 on a pay as you go setup. But it doesnt seem to be offered by any of the sites I've been to, only the s3 mini seems to be the favourite offering. So I was looking at contracts as a way of gaining access to it, but some of the contracts are up to £29 a month. That's way to expensive. So I've been looking at the sim only options. But I wanted to ask a question. If I buy a phone without sim off amazon or one of the phone company sites, then I buy a sim only package, will this give me a new phone number and will it work? Thanks for any help you guys can give. |

if you buy the one from amazon and then take out a sim only contract, yes you'll have a new phone number, as long as the one is unlocked to the network you're signing up to, yes it will work.
you also have an option to keep your current number if it isn't tied into any contract on either the same network or by porting it over to your new network, then you wont have a new number, you'll be able tp keep your old number if you have one |
