Vine and Instagram Video Problems
Well, the excitement of having Vine and Instagram on my Orange San Diego has been rather torpedoed by the fact none of them work.
Vine - Camera won't initialise. Instagram - Can still take photos, but the new video icon does not appear. My OSD is running ICS 4.04 - no JB update will ever be available for this phone. I'm wondering if it's the Intel architecture that these apps don't like? Oh well, final straw for my OSD. I've had the bloody thing 8 months, and I've had 4. This one, the GPS doesn't work - which I don't really use very much - and the power button is sinking into the casing again. Think I'm within my rights to have a crack at saying "Sorry, this make is duff, I'd like something else" |

On Android, can't you choose which camera these apps open?
I know that with Instagram, you can choose to use the stock camera rather than theirs if you want to. But, you can't do this for video - you have to use their interface. I think this is because of how the videos are taken, with each clip being saved in a temporary location until the video is finalised. Same with Vine. Anyway, I suppose I'm asking, are the apps definitely set up to use their interfaces rather than the phone's stock camera? |
