Alex's business
I've just come across this article on Alex's business on the mail online. Not sure how accurate it is but it makes for interesting reading.

if there is any truth in that at all I really hope he gets to the interview stage now as they are usually quite good at tracking down details about the contestants companies
especially this ; But accounts lodged at Companies House reveal the net worth of Prestige Slate was only £555 in 2011 and that the company had a modest annual turnover of about £28,000. |

If this is true I am disappointed. Alex seems like a really intelligent chap as he has proved in the process already, so it seems a real shame to read this news.

Apart from Prestige Slate, Alex has set up 4 companies in the last 2 years. 3 out of these 4 companies were dissolved within 6 to 18 months. His remaining company Dynamo Legal was only set up in January last year.
His relationship with Funky Insurance is unclear. He's not a director of Mela Rossa which trades as Funky Insurance. Alex would need to be approved by the FCA as a 'fit and proper person' before he can be a director of Mela or sell insurance. |

I'm not sure how significant 146 complaints is, it's less than 1% as the article says.
Most new companies probably have teething problems... edit: http://www.pissedconsumer.com/review...629328116.html There's a message half way where Alex claims a jealous rival is trying to defame him |

This is interesting http://www.alexmills.tv/about/index.html
Alex says the slate company he was working for liquidated with over £200,000 of debt and he joined forces with another colleague and set up their own slate sign business from a garage in Tondu. Also gives a plausible explanation for why he’s no longer involved with Prestige Slate and his interest in the Law. |

Also gives a plausible explanation for why he’s no longer involved with Prestige Slate and his interest in the Law. It's a common ploy by insolvent companies to dissolve the company and write off its debts. They would then start up a new company and commence trading as before with the slate wiped clean. |
