Girl Bands
1. Girls Aloud - hands down my fave in every possible way 2. Sugababes - I cannot deny some of the amazing songs they've put out 3. Spice Girls - their impact just cannot be ignored, some amazing singles 4. The Saturdays - Some amazing singles and albums, still going strong I would also give honourable mentions to Atomic Kitten and All Saints who couldn't quite make my top 4. Boybands 1. Blue - I've given them this because i think some of their songs are very good. 2. Westlife - manufactured yes, but some really good songs across the years 3. JLS - some amazing singles 4. One Direction - well they are only two albums but really good 5. Take That - very good i have to admit particulary the last two albums 6. The Wanted - so cocky but some good singles Honourable mentions to Boyzone and Jedward Boy/Girl Groups 1. S Club 7 - amazing 2. S Club Juniors - less amazing 3. Hearsay - alright 4. Liberty X - some really good songs Never got Steps to be honest.... |

Girl Groups
1. Sugababes - From 2.0 onwards, my favourite girl group. So many classic songs and so many more underrated ones, every single member could/can sing to a great level. I liked 1.0 but 2.0 really caught my attention. 2. Girls Aloud - Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts alone make this group. They were so lucky to get Xenomania write such great singles for them and without them, I don't think they would have been as successful as they were 3. Destiny's Child - Obviously it started as Beyonce featuring Destiny's Child but when the trio was formed they were great. I'm a much bigger fan of DC together than any of them as solo artists 4. Honeyz - I know 3 was the number given but after going to watch The Big Reunion, I refound my love for them. Their first five singles were brilliant and I am now addicted to 'Finally Found' and 'Won't Take It Lying Down' Boy Bands 1. The Wanted - I know they aren't popular on here but I think they are brilliant. Nathan's vocals are top notch and better than the majority of boyband members at the minute, Tom and Jay have gorgeous tone to their voices (especially in more indie style covers like Iris and Animal) and unlike the majority, I think 3/5 are gorgeous 2. NSYNC - Anything that bought JT into my life is an ultimate winner. Wasn't much for some of their album tracks but singles like 'Bye, Bye, Bye', 'Girlfriend' and 'It's Gonna Be Me' I loved 3. Blue - IMO, the first time around Lee Ryan was the best boyband singer, saw them live a couple of times and he was brilliant, not a fan of their more recent stuff though Boy/Girl Groups 1. Liberty X - Loved them the first time around and still love them now. Their singles were great and it's a shame how they just fizzled out 2. Steps - Who doesn't like a bit of cheese? Ok, so they were a cheese factory but they were the first group I ever went to see "live" and they were brilliant on their reunion tour |

From the list given to choose from.
boybands: 1.) Take Take: Hands down the greatest and most diverse musically and talented boyband of all time they've done most styles of music across all their albums. The only one to hold a unique songwriter in the group (Barlow) showing the talent and meaning all their content (bar a few reinterpreted covers) was all them. Robbie is also the most unique boyband member mixing wit, charisma, showmanship, humour etc which no other boyband member has matched and that was at 16 years old. From what I've seen they also put on the best live show and i'm talking about in the 90's also with the tour concepts and breakdancing etc. They are also the only group on the list who started with nothing and rose to the very top worldwide instead of having it all from the first single like all the others. 2.) Backstreet Boys: Great vocals and songs but no changing of the formula and never challenged themselves like Take That do to push the envelope. 3.) Blue: Slick, talented and one of the few you're allowed to like as a male. #4 would have been East 17 who were/are a very unique boyband especially in todays age where protecting the clean cut image is everything but also in their own time. They were edgy and had great tracks but they aren't on the options. Would have gone for Busted next but they aren't on the list either 4.)NSYNC: Again stuck in a sound/formula like BSB but still great and JC and Justin are great vocalists. 5.)Boyzone/Five: Very different groups and styles but both had great songs although Boyzone suffer the Westlife too many covers problem. With Five When the Lights Go Out was a hit in the States and on TRL for a while. Girlbands: 1.)Sugababes: Like Take That they've done it all or rather a lot of styles and each time had hits. The lineup saga really annoys me though. 2.)All Saints: In terms of songs imo no girlband song is better than Pure Shores which even guys and people I know who hate pop music love this track. Good hits but too few songs came from them. Also had some success in the States with Never Ever I remember. 3.) Destiny's Child: Too many female agenda tracks which Beyoncé has also taken into her solo career. However all their songs were slick and good. 4.) Spice Girls: Force of nature and what they achieved in 3 years worldwide can't be taken away from them or even replicated perhaps. Songs wise I don't really like loads of them but they have personality and energy to them. 5.)Girls Aloud: Another band stuck in a formula and i'm already finding their songs a bit dated which isn't a good sign but they had a few good tracks. |

Can I just ask how are Jedward a boyband?
they are a duo...And to me, Lawson are a pop band - if they are a boyband, then Maroon 5 could be as well ![]() My favorite Boybands 1. Westlife 2. Blue (however, I don't like their new album) 3. Nsync I never listened to girlbands but I appreciate Destiniy's Child. |

Favourite boybands
Bigbang- They have very good songs, great stage presence, amazing videos and they are very unique. Bad boy is such a great song. Backstreet Boys- They make me happy. Their songs are very good pop songs. They deserve to be the most successful boyband. You can't beat i want it that way. Blue- I loved them a lot when i was a kid. One Love is my jam. Take That- I love Patience, Pray, Shine, Kidz. They are a great boyband and songs like Back for Good are the reason they are successful and amazing. The second phase of their career made me a fan. 2PM- I just got into them. ADTOY made me a fan. They are not the best singers in the world but what they lack they make for in stage presence, choreography and good songs. Girlbands Sugababes- I love 2.0. Heidi, Keisha and Mutya are the best. Their vocal harmonies are just immense. Three is my favourite album by a girlband. Too lost in you, situation's heavy, push the button, denial. i could go on. They are amazing. All three compliment each other well and no one outshines the other. Girls aloud- Great pop songs. 2NE1- Charismatic and very good songs Destiny's child- Great rnb songs I love S club 7. Natural is one of myy favourite songs |

I liked a lot of boybands when I was young; Busted, Mc Fly, Blue. Liked the Spice Gir, Bewitched, steps, hear say and liberty X and all stars if anyone remembers them. They had a programme on BBC or Citv about Dream Street or something.
I do like Take That now though. I think Gary Barlow is a great writer. |

Girlbands
Stooshe Little Mix Girls Aloud Boybands JLS - Have loved them ever since XF, seen them live 5 times and they will ALWAYS be number one for me. The Wanted - Even though Max and Tom might mouth off a little too much, they're all lovely boys. Great singers (especially Nathan) and they're fantastic live. Lawson - Andy is an amazing singer, love their singles and Chapman Square is a fantastic album. Also fantastic live. Blue - Lee Ryan is the best boyband singer I've possibly ever heard. Was also a massive fan of S Club 7 and S Club Juniors when they were around

My favourite girl band of my time is All Saints, and my favourite boyband is Take That without Robbie.
I favour solo artists usually, though. |
