After speaking to my advisors and reading responses on the team threads and on this one, I have come to a decision.

Helios, we were very impressed with the creativity of your product and it was clear a lot of thought went into the changes that were made. However, we were unsure about the mass appeal of it...

Harmonia, we were very disappointed with the lack of originality here. There are so many products like this on the shelves today. However we were very impressed with the effort that went into your pitch and we also liked the different flavours you chose...

In the end, I've decided that the winner of this task is...

Not at all, we just all disagreed with him on that point. George was asking for synonyms for some of the scientific words. I suggested using an online thesaurus before he tried to make out that there are no synonyms for scientific words - in which case, why did he ask us?

I don't think we ganged up on him at all, we just disagreed with him.
Amy, I asked for suggestions of synonyms to make a point that there aren't very many. I was being slightly sarcastic. It obviously backfired, and I apologise for that as it's not that professional.

I'm sorry but it's not immature. I think sometimes you need to think before typing and think about how it comes across.
I didn't mean that you were immature, I meant that if I had been aggressive or rude, that would have been immature of me. I don't think that I was.

Firstly, I'd like to say that this was not an easy decision. Both products had their flaws but when it came down to it, Helios' flaws were much less detrimental.

A question I'd like to ask is why creativity and originality didn't seem to be a priority? There are many other established biscuits on the market that come in different flavours.

I wouldn't say that originality didn't seem to be a priority, we did try to differentiate it with some of the less traditional flavours (Chocolate Orange) but for us, it felt like the beauty was in the simplicity as more straight-forward products tend to sell than gimmicky products.

I believe it was original but I think simplicity is good as well. People know what to expect and we really believed it was a good product.

I guess we maybe felt that the importance was on the improvements and the reasons behind them. Magic Middles was the best idea we had - we felt it would be easy to improve it and bring it back into today's market. We knew they were popular before but health reasons forced it being discontinued. We did look at technological products and toys but decided there wasn't as much scope for development as there is with Magic Middles.

I do think our product was somewhat creative and original, just maybe not enough to win the task unfortunately.

As I said before I personally feel like our product was stronger on the latter two of these, which is why we worked hard on making the marketing strategy appropriate.

I don't feel as if we didn't make creativity and originality a priority, although neither of these were specifically mentioned in the task, I do think we provided a lot of reasons into creativity - particularly in the development stage.

To list some:
- The creation of characters, hand drawn by Jack.
- The website etc
- Flavours & future longevity projects aka introducing new flavours

Whilst I don't think there is any denying that 'innovation' is definitely something that can be handed to the other team; I feel the difference between ours and theirs is substantially less than theirs and both realism and potential real life sales.

Aside from Kevin's opinion of a Chocolate Orange flavour being original, what do you find to be original about your product, Eliza?

Personally I think that the priority as we saw it was to take something old, and keep the good points while improving on the bad. As we chose something that was very popular in the past, the good points that we kept in were some of the most fundamental parts of the product, whereas the other team chose something that was unpopular before and completely redeveloped it. Maybe we should have chosen something that didn't take off.

Whilst I'm not meaning to be rude but this'll probably come across as rude...

If 5 parents let their children, all boys obviously because no girl is going to be deeply into a rocket, buy one of their products, I would be rather surprised.

But - it isn't my opinion that matters!

With the product that we had chosen, we had been creative when designing the packaging and when compared to the original it is a lot more creative and original. Yes, it is not mega creative, but reinventing it into something marketable was what we did.

I really don't believe there is a product like it. The flavours inside it makes it original. There is no other shortbread biscuits with different gooey fruity flavours inside.

I think our product was original but also fairly simple as well which is what we wanted. Its a good product that people would know what to expect but in an interesting way (centre of the biscuit with the flavour)
