I've always been a fan of Rose McGowan as Tatum Riley's death in Scream. Death by cat flap is highly original. Also because the character is a fave of mine in the Scream franchise I always feel sad that she dies. This is so important in a horror/ slasher film , the audience needs to care about the characters. You need to want them to survive otherwise you have a situation like the later Freddy films where you're cheering on the villain. I loved that Tatum was feisty and fought back when Ghostface attacked her. I really appreciated the dialogue too in this scene such as this classic line 'Please don't kill me Mr Ghostface, I wanna be in the sequel'

What death scenes do other people like?

Now that's a death scene ! The word iconic is thrown round too often these days but it is the only way to describe Kane's death.

I like the death scene in Black Swan, mainly because there is ambiguity in whether she dies or not.

Kirk's father in the rebooted Star Trek was a good one.

Hmmm I think Disney have had some good ones particularly Claude Frollo in Hunchback of Notre Dame.

I thought Myrtle in The Great Gatsby (2013) was excellent too.

I can't actually think of lots off the top of my head

One that always sticks in my mind, and probably one of the most famous is the murder in the shower from the film Psycho.

I quite the Comedian's death in Watchmen, but that's many due to the proceeding fight and element of dark humour, so I'm not sure it counts...

Kat (Keegan Connor Tracy) in Final Destination 2. There are a lot of good scenes in that film (the whole Highway to Hell sequence is amazing), but Kat wins for me because I love the character. Asking the fireman to keep the noise down when he's cutting her out of her car wreck.

Lola getting shot in Run, Lola, Run was jaw-dropping the first time I saw it.

Omen 2 the guy who got chopped in half in the elevator and Scanners has to be one of the most iconic too.

To Live and Die in LA has a shocking and memorable death scene but that's all I'm saying
