I purchased this machine last year, and I downloaded the app from playstore called the diga player which when connected to a network picks up your recordings from the recorder to your mobile or tablet which is wonderful, but now they have brought out a remote record which would be better again.
I spoke to Panasonic about this and was informed that my dvd recorder was an old model, and wouldn;t be able to pick up this new feature. I am rather upset about this and wondered whether anybody else has experienced this as my machine was bought for xmas last year.

Fact of life. Not all hardware can be upgraded to new features. Or the manufacturer can't be ar5ed to update the firmware so new features work.

If Panasonic can't or won't update the firmware of your machine to make use of any new gizmos they introduce then there isn't very much you can do about it.

Oh and by the way there is no e in Blu-Ray

Its almost unheard of for a manufacturer to make things backward upgradeable , in fact the only example I can think if in recent times is Samsung making a upgrade kit available for there fantastic 2012 ES8000 TV range bringing them near to the 2013 F8000 range albeit at a cost of circa £250 .

It would be like a car manufacturer handing out 6 speed gearbox's for last years 5 speed models -- nice but not vital .
