Three's Irish network goes down
Three is reporting a network outage in Ireland, hours after announcing it was buying O2's Irish operation for €780m, but apparently this downtime is Virgin Media's fault.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/06...k_goes_titsup/ Seems strange just earlier this month their UK network went down and now their Irish network? |

One of the reasons I will always go 30 day rolling on any SIM deal. It just seems to make more sense to me.

The down time here in the UK was a pain in the ass. I couldn't text or ring anybody but thankfully it only lasted for a day.

On that day it only affected Three customers using data though. Calls and text messages did still work.

Yeah, I mentioned this on the thread about Three buying O2. Certainly unfortunate timing as it seems like a complete failure only minutes after making their big announcement. You've got to feel a bit for them.
Also unusual was the fact that they made sure on their homepage everyone knew that Virgin Media was responsible for the problem (dodgy UK fibre transmission links). |
