OMG. Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga seem to be yelling rather than singing.
Thankfully Natalie and Trent danced beautifully.

Got to defend the great Mr Tony Bennett, I think he's still got it. Okay he struggles with the high notes but for his age he's fantastic. I went to see him a few years ago in the Albert Hall (Jamie Cullum there all starry-eyed) and he can still project his voice without a microphone, his expressiveness still mesmerising. I'd rather listen to all the experience in his voice than almost all the other singers I've heard on Strictly over the years.

Lady Gaga, on the other hand, is an example of the modern belief of shouty power equating with powerful emotion (see, see the louder you hear me the more I'm emoting) , I'd rather hear a beautiful tone and true emotion in a voice than all the OTT Hollywood Holler!

Just my 'umble opinion, but Mr Tony Bennett is a God.

He is. He has such touch and warmth and delicacy. Love him very very much

Amen PM.

Mr TB's humility, tenderness and generosity just pour out of him. This might be one of my favourite's - The Very Thought of You

Close your eyes and feel all the stress leave your soul. Bliss.

Have to add my voice to Tony,s appreciation society
Saw him in Glasgow well...sssh followed him round Glasgow,s Suchiehall Street when I was in my teens. Listened to him in person a couple of years ago in the same city's Royal Concert Hall .We had difficulty getting the same friend who was with me so many moons ago away from the stage door. Golden oldies right enough I like that, as well as signing all the traditional classics ,he has embraced the younger generation of singers His duets albums are testament to that... And yes ,I thought Natalie was fab plus nice to see one of the new pros with her

I you haven't watched this (and are interested!), BE QUICK!! ABC are running round purging YT. This is the only one I could find with the full segment. The sound is distorted and the picture has a banner covering part of it, but best I could find today.

ETA: No sound on the actual dance. Will look for one with music!

Right. Take two. This one is much better. (Will leave the other one there as back up )

Lea and Val - broadway (Artem's proper partner in the switch. Producers overplaying the jealousy card......)”

Thanks Soupy.

Arty in braces and some signature moves...did they survive?

I think Jake is my boy, I think he’s the one I’m going to be rooting for this season, I really like Sunetra and Caroline too. Pixie is growing on me, but after reading Clarty's comment I'm not sure now . More to like this week than dislike, I felt.

Frankie and Kevin - very nice and easy to watch. She just needs more muscular shaping but she’s a lovely mover in general. I'm getting the Kara comparison (boy, do I miss seeing Kara and Artme dance).

Mark and Karen - gotta love his enthusiasm and the effort he puts in. I thought he did a good job, had me smiling all the time.

Judy and Anton - better than ‘oh dear’. Her best so far.

Simon and Kristina - I really enjoyed the Cockerney cheese-fest. He looked more relaxed.

Alison and Aljaz - loving Aljaz. If Alison could just lift her feet more she’d look so much better in her dances. I love the way she acts the dance and she’s a great mover.

Scott and Joanne - how many more friends and relatives can Scott bring into his VTs to help his cause?. He’s just pretty terrible but so like an uncoordinated child doing his best at the Panto you feel for him (another man/child comparison ).

Steve and Ola - He really goes for it doesn’t he. Lovely attitude, lots of chest and lifts, not much bounce or dance.

Pixie and Trent - Very nicely done. A restrained dance, I think Darcey was right.

Tim and Natalie - Well, there are limits to my cringe-tolerance and I just couldn’t watch really, I saw glimpses, moments but I just couldn’t watch. Bless him.

Sunetra and Brendon - I think this was her poorest dance so far, she just didn’t look comfortable for a lot of it. I still love her.

Tom and Iveta - I think Iveta has lost her mojo, this was sort of a yawn-fest. Okay I suppose but not for me.

Jake and Janette - He just goes for it without embarrassment or cockiness. I always enjoy watching him despite me not having confidence in him prior to the dance. Love Janette and her dress too, Clarty.

Caroline and Pasta - Just really like Caroline, I think she’s a lovely girl. Not my favourite dance from her but she’s great and they make a lovely couple.

I'm such a bad Kara and Artem fan really, I haven't watched either of them in their new venture. Bad Nooney.

Spoiler
Who on God's earth is voting for Scott?! Can't believe Mark was in the bottom too, poor sausage.

Great summary. Agree esp BIB

Slightly OT, but if I see another pair of muppets dancing for our delectation on ITT I may well reach into the screen and try to murder them. Same goes for nans bearing edible gifts. Enough production team, enough.”

Me too...takes a fraction of the time and cuts out the cringe...well some at least

I'm glad she finally has a decent partner and I think the last two weeks Thom has started to put a bit more personality into his dances. He's very good looking so don't blame her if she's smitten (I'd be)

I enjoyed last night's show. Quite unexpectedly, I like Jake and Janette. I hate his character on East Enders but he is a good dancer and I look forward to continued entertainment from these two. The third couple I'm supporting is Sunetra and Brendan. I like her personality.

The VT with Pixie taking Trent home to meet the family and looking at family photos was reminiscent of K&A.

Poor Scott really is a terrible dancer. Tim isn't very good either I hope Judy stays for another week so her sons can attend the show but she can go after that as far as I'm concerned; not a natural dancer. ”

Jake is a surprise to me too. His character in EE is horrid, just shows how good an actor he is. Thankfully he is a great performer and the characterisation in his dancing is brilliant to watch.

Can't believe 10 years on I am back supporting Brendan to win! Sort out the trousers!

There was no elimination. The votes and marks from the last two weeks will see someone eliminated tonight. The votes followed the celeb in the Switch, not the pro, so I hope people liked Lea and Val's broadway number.....

Most likely everyone will get to dance - even though one couple is already condemned (or two??? ) and then they'll announce the elimination.

This week's dance/marks/votes will count for next week. Lea and Artem have a salsa. I'll be pretty shocked if they leave tonight.

Yes, good news!

I'm not on facebook, so not voting, I'm afraid and I think you need a US email to vote on the ABC site .

It's becoming hard to watch this show via YT...

Lea and Artem's Salsa (dance and judging/scores. Not found one with the VT yet....)

Hi thanks for the link Soupy, and for the heads up to vote caligirl. I do have facebook thanks to a couple of kartemites who did the deed for me, so have voted each week.
I thought Lea looked a bit tentative at times and the end twiddly lifty bit looked wrong somehow. Have picked up on the Artem thread that she has injured a rib (with Val) that could account for tentativity (is that a word) I injured a rib doing something on the boat this summer and it hurt a lot and took ages to disappear, so I think that could explain it. Sending her healing vibes.

I have been voting for Artem via Facebook and ABC.com DWTS site. I thought at first I have to have US email to vote and managed to create one US email address( was not easy) But actually I could register DWTS site with my UK emails and they allow me to vote. So far I have create 5 more UK email accounts and the DWTS voting site allows me register and vote.

This week, they got 32/40 for their Salsa and in the middle of leader board. I am worried a lot to be honest that they might be in jeopardy or in the bottom 2 or they might be going home next week if they don't get enough public votes.

So if you want to support Artem on DWTS and have email (US, UK wherever I think) please go ABC or DWTS site and register and vote. I personally go to DWTS vote site. I have only basic knowledge of technology /social media etc and I am not even English speaking person but managed to vote. It is not difficult. If you are on Facebook, it is super easy just go to Dancing with the Stars. FB and online voting open 24 hours ( by 1 am Wednesday, I believe) Still you can do it !!!

Thank you.

I love that Artem is looking forward to Len's return (he's been gone three (four?) weeks now) because each dance has its rules and Len keeps it real . Artem not approving of all the faffing abaht, eh? Tee, hee!

This is the full clip of Lea and Artem on Monday night. I'd be interested in hearing what you think of the training VT and Artem's approach.
