Well we moan when the clocks change, they have it worse!!!

Think Patti and Artem will be on soon, Witney and Chris coming to the end.

Lol Artem's joining in with Witney and Chris.
Just watching. Dancers pick up the choreo in 2 seconds flat, don't they?!. I think he helped Chrid understand that better. fun to see the teams interact naturally.

Not bad at all.

A chmerkovskiy invasion in the studio.

Patti likes Artem's aura

Ha ha Maks coming in, then she disappeared with them!! She's certainly queen bee, but seems very polite. Yes good job she likes Art's aura.

She seems to pick up the choreography better than some of the celebs.

I really enjoyed watching them at work. Lots of ego massaging going on and plenty of resting, but they seem to get the job done. I guess if you've been in showbiz for 52 years you can expect people to dance attendance on you a little , but as you say, she's polite - and she's generous with her flattery too.

Yes I enjoyed it too, I would have liked, more close ups of them, it was a bit too fly on the wall camera work.

Yes they all have to gravitate to her and as you say stroke the ego, but she has a positive aura and seems good natured. Don't know how she woud take criticism though.

Sorry I missed this post earlier, lol at Artem going a bit wooden, to imitate Chris' moves. Yes quick as a flash to pick up the moves.

I have a long standing crush on Ms LaBelle, she's a one-off, that's for sure. I'm glad she's changed hairdressers coz I'm not quite sure how Arty would have got her in hold with her old hair styles. Looking back I suppose her hair had to be that big to balance the enormous shoulder pads she always wore. I hope she does well, she's a quality old broad is Patti

Not what I was expecting great song, should keep them in another week.

Agree with all this - Artem was very patient and sweet with her. I can totally understand her needing sit downs, but it does make me wonder how she gets through her concerts. If they keep this live training for future seasons it will be interesting to see Artem with a younger 'contender' (hopefully ) to compare the training styles.

If you missed the rehearsal it's up on Daily Motion here.. Patti was a little late for their slot (lol!) and Artem helped out another couple for a few minutes - you can see it in the short (six minutes or so) Chris and Witney video on the same page.

Although, as I said before, I don't think Artem needed to learn anything about choreographing for different people/showcasing his partner etc, one thing he does seem to be learning on DWTS is to 'play the game'. Watching the training, he does seem a lot more aware of how he is coming across on camera and he gave very careful diplomatic answers to some of the questions. His answer to how he felt getting Patti was very different to what he apparently said to Fern (although to be fair Fern isn't quite such a Showbiz legend ). He used to tweet once in a blue moon but now there's constant updates. I guess when he was on Strictly he didn't really need to 'play the game' as he was clearly the best male dancer (IMO), always front of the pro dances etc and he had plenty of loyal fans built up since his win with Kara. I know he said being with Patti lets him be the 'real him', so maybe how he was when he joined Strictly wasn't really him, but I must admit I used to like a bit of grumpy slouchy Artem

I'm rewatching thanks, was I the only one stuck on producer cam last night? It wouldn't swap over, but storms recording isn't on that, so I'm guessing it was only me. Thanks OP for keep uploading footage.

Reading all the posts this morning and as usual we are all on the same wave length
Been round the block maybe not as many times as Miss Patti but supporting Artem from day well ....maybe not day one but definitely day 2( beautiful foxtrot )I'd say yes he's learnt to play the game that's for sure .. When we think back to how little he spoke his first scd there's been quite a turn around .and oh how we used to bemoan the no tweets .
Is that a wig she wears ? an awful lot of patting (no pun intended) at the back last night but lucky her 70 and no lines on face .

She personifies the word Diva for me Totally aware of who she is and accepts graciously all the deference shown
.I doubt there will be any terminator moments in this liaison :
I believe another of the female celebs is 68 ? Well not much difference there and I wonder if she's as breathless .
Thanks for keeping us all in the loop :

It looks like Jeremy Piven is doing a lot more promotion for the start of Mr Selfridge series 3 in the US than he did when it started over here - hope it pays off

Apparently he is on Jimmy Fallon tonight - I love that show and wish we got it over here. The lip sync battles are my favourite, although I'm not sure I can see JP doing this

BIB. That describes Patti perfectly.

I think these wrinkle free ladies must all use Lulu's magic cream

Not seen that before. Funny. Ended up watching the one with Emma Stone too. She was great.

(I'm afraid Mr Selfridge didn't grab me and I gave up after a couple of episodes . Still, good luck to them all - hope it does well in America)

Yes, she was brilliant. I don't know if you watched any of the others, but Stephen Merchant doing 'Single Ladies' is another favourite of mine

I've stuck with it even though its a bit depressing. I think Kara has done well despite not having much in the way of storylines. Not very keen on Hannah's character though . I'm not sure if I'll watch the next series as its not likely to get much cheerier.

Hope Patti's going to be ok, she's injured her knee. She says she's still going to dance.

Oh, dear. Hope she can do it (and not do herself further mischief).

If an injured celeb is given a choice, it must be really hard for them to make the call not to dance when they've worked so hard all week and love the song etc. I hope she doesn't do any further damage, but if that was likely I suppose TPTB wouldn't let her dance.

On another note, really not liking Artem's shiny white jacket - I hope it doesn't have matching trousers

I thought his trousers were mighty fine

Salsa to 'In da club' (click the little screen icon bottom right for full screen)

I know the audience at Dwts is always very excitable , but they did seem to really get behind Patti and Artem on this one. They were last in the running order. I don't know if this was to ratchet up the tension ('will she/won't she be able to dance???!!!' ) or for the sheer camparama of the production, but I loved it. I know she didn't do huge amounts of dancing and there was a lot of staging and extra dancers, but I thought it all really worked. Loved Patti's costuming for this. Artem seemed to be having a ball .

Thanks for the link It was very enjoyable but also a masterclass in distraction from how little Patti was actually doing (I thought in the live training they were practising one little segment quite a lot, but that was actually the whole dance ). Artem did look like he was having fun - it must be quite liberating when viewers don't have any real 'expectations'. I don't know if it was just me, but the dance felt really short - I was just thinking they were going to get into it then it was the end pose . I think watching DWTS makes me appreciate Strictly a bit more, in spite of the little moans I have every year

Spoiler
