I've watched most of the others and there are a few of them I can imagine Patti outlasting - the standard doesn't seem that great apart from Rumer and Nastia - but it sounds like the voting is pretty close at the bottom. It probably depends on what dances they get as well - it seems to be easier to make latin dances entertaining vote winners than ballroom. I hope Patti at least gets to do the Paso like she wanted, as it could be quite something

Next week is Latin week, so it's possible she could have paso (not seen her dance anywhere yet).

Patti and Artem are doing the All Access Live rehearsal thing again this evening. 9pm UK time. Their music track sounds like a samba, (but might stretch to a cha cha). It's Oye 2014 by Santana featuring Pitbull. I think the version without Pitbull's ....ahem...'contribution' might have been a better choice....

I won't be able to watch live, so hope it gets uploaded again. (Off to see some proper dancing )

Ah, shame she didn't get the paso, cha cha isn't the most exciting dance at the best of times but I'm sure they'll get some interesting staging etc. Someone at DWTS certainly seems to love Pitbull I doubt I'll watch the training as the ego-massaging was a bit much for me last time TBH

I watched some of Patti and Artem's rehearsal, and while I understand your discomfort with the ego massaging, I'm really enjoying this version of Artem. He seems extremely relaxed and is pitching all this in just the right way. As was said earlier (by you? ), he's learned very quickly how to play the Dwts game and seems to be going with the flow, having fun and winning friends. All to the good.

Another site has rumbles of Patti-related intel implying she may withdraw (because of the injury)... Hope they are mistaken.

Hi all, been a bit lurk ish lately not sure why. Perhaps dWTS, horror and Mr Selfridge not doing it for me.
Fridgy I agree with you that the Artem portrayed in the training videos is a bit of a revelation. I can live without the Patti diva bit, but he is doing a brilliant job. I also thought she was managing the steps pretty well. I only watched about 10 minutes, but was impressed.
La Bretagne continues to be great. We had a great time in the port a sec(boat yard) over winter. Everyone chatted to us, gave us tips and even polished bits of our boat that we had missed. Lovely mixture of Yachties ( our dentist) , fishing boat owners who waxed lyrical about fishing round les iles de Glenan and the spanish delivery man of the new electric ferry, to name a few. Boat is now in the concarneau marina waiting for the wind to drop.

I know what you mean. I'm hoping Kara's new play will be something good. It's a shame she's not in the new production of The Importance of being Earnest (with David Suchet as Lady Bracknell) as I think she said once Gwendolen is her dream role and I think she'd be great in it

Thanks Not really sure what to say about that.... I don't know if its lack of rehearsal time or Patti's injury (I'm assuming that's not what Artem would choose to choreograph unless he had to ) but it was pretty bad. If that's as much as she's able to do it might be better if they go soon. I wouldn't like to see people getting nasty about them if they outstay someone with real potential.

Watched Rumer and Nastia as well but no one really wowed me. I was distracted by the faces Rumer was pulling and I find Nastia slightly robotic. Derek's bare chest also distracted me and not in a good way - he's the anti-sexy

Just in case you don't want to watch all of it ...Artem loves UK and tells Patti he lived in London for four years and did the show here and won, she's impressed and tells him she loves London and lived there way back ... when Elton John was her piano player and she took money off the boys playing cards. She would like to dance a samba to California Love by 2Pac. Artem likes paso because you get to be manly. And shirtless. Patti really likes Artem because he's cool and calm and he talks to 'her people' whereas lots of folk only want to talk to the celeb. She likes that he's the same with everyone. Lots of talk about food. He learns a new phrase: 'everything in moderation'. He loves to cook and had to learn because he left home so young. She's never had Russian food. He'd like to cook her Borsht but she hates beets. They both dislike cauliflower. He tries not to eat too much bread-stuff so if he makes pancakes he uses spelt flour (yum). She says some girl's going to be very lucky and he asks 'Where is she?!!' Bless. Oh, and he was asked to be on Masterchef in the UK!!!!!

I'm a bit surprised if that's the first time Patti has heard about Artem living in London and winning Strictly. You'd think that would be one of the first things you'd find out if you asked even the most basic questions about his life/career, or even googled him when you found out he was your partner (or got your 'people' to google him )

I watched the whole rehearsal. She is something else . but credit to her she sticks in even when tired. He is so confident it makes me chuckle when I remember him as he was at the start of Scd . A bit off putting of her not to know anything about him. (I agree her people not doing their job ) . And little response from her to hearing he had won the glitter ball in uk I feel like tweeting "hey Patti. Watch him and his winning partner do a rhumba oh and throw in a look at his American smooth tool " However they do seem to gel .i guess its good exposure for him being with such a well know and liked person . Her jazz looks as if will surpass the awful cha cha . She seemed to be well corseted so maybe that restricted her .

Reg Dwight as he was , was booked for a gig with our students union which he cancelled immediately prior the name change There was a big fuss in our press at the time funny how something as stupid as that stays in your mind .

I'm only watching the Artem partnership on the show . Are any of our regulars following it . ? Too much hysteria for me and the two female judges!!! oh me they manage to make Bruno look restrained .

It'd be interesting to see how Artem would react in a situation where he is not the 'pro' - being bossed around by shouty chefs or if he'd take charge in the mass catering challenges etc.

I'm watching a few of the others but although they teach them to do a lot of steps very fast, they seem to miss some of the finesse and emotion you get in the slower dances on Strictly. I could be wrong though as I've only watched a pretty small sample. I don't like all the extra dancers everywhere - sometimes I can barely spot the couple I fear Strictly is heading that way though
