Hello

Haven't logged on for so long I forgot my password, but all sorted now. Where are all the lovely kartemites? Maybe it is the lacklustre choreography and absence of Artem magic on the show that is keeping this thread quiet?? Whatever reason I hope you are all well.

The only couple to catch my attention this year is Anita and the gorgeous Gleb. Anita is so full of energy and enthusiasm that she is a joy to watch. I think she has been continuously under marked, well until last night, when she was a tad over marked. Too many Gleb moves in the routine for me, but still my favourite.

Not an Andre fan but thought his Charleston was good, not a 10.
Anton is the weak link in this partnership, I almost feel sorry for Katie.
Kellie and Kevin are so annoying and loud. What a horrible dress.not even worthy of a Vontrap dress😉
Agreed with the rumba comments, but I could watch Alijaz all night!
Didn't watch Jamelia's dance
Jay is very good but he lacks any facial emotion and doesn't exhibit any personality
Jeremy is giving it his all and you can' t fault him for that
The lovely Carol is delightful but she cannot dance
Enjoyed the last dance but cannot remember their names...sorry

Fab news about Kara, very exciting for her.

Poldark took my attention this year so Artem's continued absence from my screen is not as bad

Thanks for posting an old link of K and A. It really is hard to believe it was five years ago.

Hi Anam, I am here mostly lurking. Thanks for views on last night. I haven't really got a favourite, though Jay is getting to me as he reminds me of my youngest son.
I also like Anita and Gleb, and I keep hoping that Helen and aljaz will light my fire.

I can tell you precisely where the lovely Kartemites are. Take a look at the jay and Aliona thread. I counted 6 last night including me.( couldn't resist when wrenny talked about slapping)
I don't feel comfortable there though, there are too many posters, a huge amount of anxting and deconstructing of every twitch, tick and dance move.
It is lovely to read the kartemites posts though.

Clartem,
So that is where they are. Thanks for letting me know. I will venture over as I'm curious and would love to read their comments on the show.

I thought Jay's jive was exceptional, really stylish with excellent footwork and timing. However, not yet in his camp.

How's life in France? Still taking dance lessons?

Looking forward to the Results show and the group jive.

Thanks for replying to my post. When I finally logged on I couldn' t believe this thread was so far down the page

it is my pleasure Anam, life here is good. I am still doing the Danse Breton, now in my second year. To my astonishment OH promised a random stranger that he would learn too, despite total lack of rythmn and two left feet. H
So far the feet are still both left in the group dances,(circle) but he is much better in hold. This is the first time we have danced together in 40 years so am working hard to improve the circle dancing. I have found one of our dances on u tube breton Danse (landéda) and tomorrow we are practising the steps at home.

Hello all.
I've reverted back to being a 'normal' SCD fan after far too many years of kartemitis.

I don't read the spoiler anymore so the Sunday show is full of surprises. I didn't watch the programme live last night due to fireworks party but most weeks I use my 3 online votes.
I was sorry to see Carol Kirkwood go this evening but she wasn't a very good dancer so it was her time to go. She comes across as being a really nice person, I hope that's really true. I've always liked her on BBC Breakfast.

I don't have a favourite couple yet so not too bothered about the results. I like Anita & Gleb's dances most weeks. I thought Georgia & Giovanni were great last night. Also thought Peter & Janette were great; loved the wig that Janette was wearing. I was pleased that Jamelia & Tristan avoided the dance-off this week.

Might have a look at the Jay & Aliona thread. A lot of people are posting there so I'm predicting he will win the glitter ball.

While it's true that Jay is gathering all the headlines (and most of the threads), after watching his AT I had to go and watch K & A's. Well I didn't HAVE to, but oh what a joy it was.

I do miss him so.

Postit, I know what you mean. Despite having a proper giant tele to watch strictly this year, I am finding the old kartem nostalgia getting in the way of enjoying the dances properly. Like you I see the AT and miss kartem moves. Worse stil when I see a VW, I just see Bland performances
I miss Artem's choreography, gleb is helping a little, but what a waste of Artem's talents DWTS has turned out to be this year

I took a quick look for your dance..so far just viewed some folks dancing a gavotte in Place de saint Conventin...definitely not the right one I also had a quick read of Jay thread and yes some familiar names with posts full of dance knowledge, humour and confessions.

Hello Crazy4kartem,
I'm dipping in and out this year and for the first time ever not watching It Takes Two. I agree it was right that Carol left but what a truly lovely lady. So sweet of Pasha to say what he did.

Well getting to the "nitty gritty ".. A bit of a ?? Having Kevin and partner in the dance off Am I getting too cynical in my old age to think it was all for effect ?? Never any doubt who would be saved .
Some really nice dancing .The pros who have talent to work with are doing a great job .
I find Tristan a bit detached but the new boys are exciting and Aliaz continuing to make a good job of showcasing his celeb as is Aliona .Thought she looked lovely Saturday .Peter Andre is consistent .The cheographyn has been excellent .aaand
don't know if it's an appropriate comment from such an old lady but .....Giovanni's hip action ..
The dresses this year have actually flattered all the ladies ..I'm not watching ITT is there someone new in charge ?
Thought there would have been more input on the thread .was looking forward to some informed comments. Common ladies. Let's have your opinions .

Thanks Ellie, will definitely be recording this on Christmas day.
I see it is being directed by Mel"s sister. talented sibs.
I continue to struggle to get attached to another thread. I noticed posts on Jay and Aliona's thread saying how boring Foxtrot can be, shortly followed by same sort of comments about the VW.
I did make one reply reminding people of the Bond Foxtrot, but couldn't face reminding them of the fantastic Vw Kara and Artem performed for fear of being drummed off the thread for for displaying chronic Artem tendencies.
Here i can post without worry

Yes, there are a few people I like in it, so should be good. I've never seen Julian Ovenden in anything, but I like the look of him

I really like Jay but I've not felt strongly enough to go on another appreciation thread. With all the changes to the show I just don't really get as invested these days - I haven't been desperate for anyone to win since K & A's year. Which is probably a good thing for my phone bill.

At last something good to look forward to at Christmas,

I too like Jay's dancing, but he seems to be all technique and no passion. The Jay fans are so vociferous that timidly trying to point out that personality (a la K&A) can only add to the viewer's enjoyment is immediately shouted down. There are certain threads where it is advisable to wear wellies, if not a hazmat suit!

Remember, oh I know you remember Kara's handstand in the quickstep and Artem's smug little grin as her hand landed perfectly in his.

Yes, for me no one else has ever had quite that level of connection on the dance floor. I always found it odd that K & A were also given the 'needs to show more personality' critique for a start, as I always thought their dances had loads of personality and performance, both before and after the paso which the judges said was their 'breakthrough'. Perhaps someone needs to tell Jay that 'It's all about the teeth!'

Oh I was very cross with Len and Craig that year. It's not surprising that both of them had to undergo surgery since then (witchy cackle)

Hi Kartemites!

Don't be scared of the Jay thread. I remember there were posters here who weren't too happy with any criticism of Kartem and this thread was fearsomely fast and furious with lots of opposing views. The Jay thread is quite tame by comparison.

I'm lovely Geo and Gio too. I admire a lot of celebs this year actually but Jay's dancing has got my votes.

I too miss the Kartem days. Sigh.
