Yes, I really like John and Mel too. Apparently they all did some rumba walks and yodelling together - looks like fun

(I think Lewis H recorded his segment the week before so isn't there.)

Apparently she's hoping Anita wins the glitterball.

Thanks

Enjoyed Jonathan Ross last night, its just a shame they seemed to have cut several bits out (according to this http://markmeets.com/tv/kara-tointon...medium=twitter). I would rather they had left the bits in that were actually about The Sound of Music and cut out the bit about Jonathan going on Comic Relief Bake Off and Mel's anecdote about her sister instead).

Well I don't know how prominent a role Mel has in SOM but she hogged the spotlight, like she was the leading actress, rather than poor Kara. Let's face it Kara had no chance with those three dominant personalities. As you say they cut the interview, would have much preferred Kara to get a fair shake of it. When Jonathan asked Kara to demonstrate some dance moves with John, Mel even had to elbow her way in there, grrrr.

Yes, they were all very dominant and I don't remember Frau Schmidt being a very big role, but I guess JR is the sort of show that goes for 'funny' over actually finding out much of substance. I would have liked to have seen the yodelling though

Its a shame the Telegraph have already cut and pasted the bit about Artem to make another article with a headline that she 'accused the BBC of contriving their relationship'. Its no wonder she's so wary of what she says in interviews these days when the papers are so quick to cut things from their context and twist what you say. After 5 years she probably wishes she could be asked about something other than Strictly, especially when its inextricably linked to questions about Artem.

Totally agree Rarely watch his show but was so looking forward to a glimpse of Kara and a glimpse about sums it up . Hope when Mel watched it last night she wanted to cringe. (?Never quite get why she needs to be in the bake off ) certainly not slow in pushing her self forward
Think John Bishop quite enjoyed his close contact with the beautiful and unassuming Kara . .she deserved more last night ..

Read the Telegraph. She is private and every interview says the same . Until she is "with"
an acknowledged permanent partner she will always be linked with Artem after all it was a beautiful love story and it did really cry out for a happy ending

A nicer little interview in amongst all the rubbish the other papers are coming out with today.

I'm glad Kara has tweeted the Telegraph to point out that they have misquoted her and she didn't 'accuse' the BBC of anything. They'll probably ignore it, but the press get away with way too much of this cutting and pasting to make stories out of nothing.

Lovely. Thanks KA. Haven't seen you in a while. Hope you're well.

I like Mel on GBBO but otherwise think she's an irritant. Nothing on JR Show to change my mind. I was growling at the telly wanting her to just SHUT UP. Not a fraction as interesting or amusing as she thinks she is. Dreading her hosting the Strictly tour. Oh, well. 😏😳

Kara was a delight as always.

I don't have any links to post but thought I would de-lurk in order to say a very big GOOD LUCK to Kara for the live show on Sunday. I hope it goes really well for the whole cast but especially for our lovely Kara. I hope all the critics can say is FA-BU-LOUS and A-MA-ZING! I'll be away but plan to record it to enjoy later.

Will also miss the SCD final. I don't really have a favourite but would be happy to see Georgia & Giovanni win. I like Katie & Anton but don't think they are as good as the others. Not a fan of Kellie & Kevin but really loved their AS in the semi-final; the Fred & Ginger references in the dance were lovely.

Very lovely.

Thanks also Ellie and Mayadewi
xx

Hi Soupy,

Hope you are ok? I've been more of a lurker this season, although I have enjoyed this series more than the last couple.

Yes Mel in small doses for me too!

Looking forward to SOM they have certainly gone all out for it.

On Monday they are doing a show at 8.00, The Making of SOM, behind the scenes, plus the actors in rehearsals.

Hi crazy4

Yes lots of luck to Kara and the cast, it seems an epic production. Really pleased for Kara to be lead actress and hope they pull it off.

Team GG for me too, although they have all done well, K & K not my favs but A for effort from them.

Em plain English for me Ellie, well perhaps slightly cobbled together! I posted it for pics and sets. Sorry I can't stop laughing about it, it is written rather badly

I see mayadewi had already posted it from DM hadn't looked at her link yet.

It looks like they've taken the DM article and run it through a thesaurus then printed it without checking the results - which probably means they would be suited to working at the DM themselves

I like how '80 living trees' has become '80 dwelling trees', but I don't think the film would have been so successful if the title had been 'The Audio of Audio'

Ha ha ha, it's still making me chuckle, Think they put it through the shredder and tried to piece the article back together, albeit not very successfully. Yes probably suited to a senior journo job at DM. The Audio of Audio would never have caught on, would have bombed.

Thanks Ellie, interesting to see, it must be quite a challenge, to do it live, but Kara sounded confident. Probably having done stage work, plus SCD, will stand her in good stead. The sets look really great and on a large scale, wow.
