First solo - a triumph

I just wanted to pop in to say that Kara's doing so well!

She's great.

Bit frustrating here. Tried to record it as we are an hr on and I have to get up really early to meet son from ferry.
Wouldn't record. Managed to watch some on Itv plus 1. She seems to be doing really well. Holding the stage when she is on, both in the singing and acting.

Kara was absolutely mesmerising. The whole production was amazing.

Absolutely loved that! Can't believe what an amazing voice Kara has - I'm surprised she hasn't done a musical before. They all did so well, the only real blip I noticed was the little girl falling over, but even that Kara covered and remembered to use her character name. So pleased for them all .

(Clartem - I think its repeated on Wednesday if you didn't manage to see it all)

Loathed the movie - can't stand Julie Andrews, but that production blew me away. Kudos to Kara, she was wonderful.

Wonderful production of Sound of Music, Kara was outstanding, who knew she could sing like that. Julien Ovenden was rather delish, had my eye on him in Downton. Wow, Gleb one week and Julien the next , how fickle I am!

She had so many lovely messages on Twitter - she sounded thrilled in her tweets this morning. I think both she and the show were trending on there at various points last night, so hopefully the ratings were good. It seems to have been a great success

I read three reviews. Mainly positivish about the production, though grumbles about them messing about the song order. However every review I read was extremely complimentary about Kara. Very lazy reporting though, half of them a list of positive tweets.

Who knew Kara could sing like that? Makes me wish she had done My Fair Lady instead of Pygmalion on the West End stage now.

Sorry to have been absent from the forums this year as just been too, too stupidly busy so something had to give and that ended up being DS - I was watching as ever though (that doesn't change ) and although totally not surprised at Jay winning do feel a little cheated that he didn't do the jive again through the 'purity of dance' or some such.Oh and hope Georgia does get some work in one of Craig's enterprising shows (loved Clauds comment), think she deserves it.

Have to fess up - didn't watch The Sound of Music as just the thought of it sets my teeth and various other things on edge (but that's just me) but really chuffed that Kara has some really good reviews and that it seemed to be popular, so will lead onto bigger and better things.

So Bon Noel and all that ! Now have to go present wrapping, not my forte, other people make them look lovely, mine just look like an agument between some shiny paper,selotape and glitter.

Oh and Happy 2016 as well !

Hi Suzie Q (waves), a couple of years ago Emma Thompson was supposed to be doing a remake of the Sound of Music with Carey Mulligan playing Eliza. Haven't heard anything else about it since but I could so see Kara doing that role.

That role would be perfect for Kara. I certainly hope she gets a lot of offers off the back of this. She deserves it. What she did was no mean feat - I know some people on DS/Twitter were convinced she was miming.
