Is it just me, or is there a whiff of good taste around Strictly this year?! The trailer was cool. The costumes and photos are quite classy. The revamped logo is a little understated and these vids are not remotely tacky. Is there a hope that the daft VTs will be gone and awful Bruce jokes banned?

Yes it does seem a bit more classy. There's a lot of moaning 'out there' about this line up, but I'm quite happy with it. There are three good looking blokes (Ashley, Ben and Patrick) and the other men (apart from Julien) look to be good characters. The ladies do look stronger.

BIB Peeve is going to try and avoid the spoiler this year and I'm definitely going to. It makes Saturday that much more exciting.

Are you going to watch the launch show with friends? Peeve, Eselle, Soupy and I are meeting up on Saturday for a launch show party. Part of the fun will be trying to match up the celebs and pros before the show starts!

Partner for Artem??

I wouldn't mind her for Artem. She's done ballet earlier in life so should have some grace. My only worry would be whether she'd last long as she's been out of the public eye for so long. It would be nice to see lots of Artem and his brilliant choreography this year.

Is no one going to speculate who Artem will be partnered with?

Reading the above posts I see a mini Kartem opening night party is taking place on Saturday. Have a strictly fabulous time and I hope the canapés are yummy!

Not having seen any of the celebs in action it is hard to tell who has potential and who hasn't. Naturally I want Artem to be paired with someone with natural rhythm and a sense of fun (not to forget hard working and thick skin!).

Abbey - too tall
Vanessa-too much!
Susanna- didn't she show potential in CIN?
Sophie- a musical ear, could be murder on the dance floor
Natalie- young and enthusiastic (I've never heard of her!)
Fiona- a romantic who appreciates all things Kartem
Deborah- surely too similar to Fern
Rachel- another one I've never heard of and therefore can't say.

Here's my initial take on the ladies.

Sophie Ellis Baxtor - Don't know why, but not that keen on her so far.
Abbey Clancy - Not sure she's going to be that popular with the public so a no for Artem from me.
Natalie Gumede - Quite a bit of dance training apparently but she might be ok if her personality comes across ok. Would like her with Artem.
Rachel Riley - Liked her video she comes across very naturally. Not sure if she'll be able to dance but would quite like her with Artem.
Fiona Fullerton - Great video. As well as loving Kara, I sensed she is a great fan of the show (watching ITT too). I'd be quite happy for her to partner Artem as I said in a post earlier.
Susanna Reid - I'm not sure why but I'm not that keen on her. She'd be ok as a partner but I'd feel slightly disappointed I think. I could change my mind possibly.
Vanessa Felz - Just no!
Deborah Meaden - Like you Anam, I think she'd be too familiar to Fern last year so am hoping she's not partnered with Artem.

I thought about Rachel maybe being too tall. It could be a similar look to when he partnered Holly. But Rachel is of a slighter build I think.

A lot of people are hoping for that on the main board.
