Miss Wrenny & Miss Soupy I'm handing in my homework. Hope it's not too late!
Strictly Series 11
I’ve been waiting in anticipation,
For Strictly to begin again.
Series 11, can you believe,
As I pick up my trusty pen?
The hype this year has been eventful,
The launch show all of a-glitter!
A decent bunch of celebrities,
Their heartbeats all of a-flutter!
Partnerships were formed that night,
But not only new celebs,
Five new pros had joined the team,
I’m sure there will be no plebs!
With 3 weeks of rehearsals ahead of them
The couples had had a great night,
Some of them happy, some of them not,
Some had had a bit of a fright!
The first show was on Friday night,
Tess in a bright yellow dress,
Brucie fluffing his lines as usual
Every line a bit of a mess!
First up were Ola and Ashley,
Both a vision in pink!
Quite a competent Cha Cha,
In the show quite a while, I think.
A change of mood with Tony & Aliona,
A waltz was their first dance,
A lovely man who tried so hard,
But mistakes we saw at a glance.
Mark & Iveta’s dance was a Tango
A surprise to me, I must say,
This couple quite charmed me,
I hope they’ll go a long way!
An energetic jive from Suzanna,
And Kevin, a Strictly new boy,
Lots of very fast movements,
To watch was absolute joy.
Brendan & Sophie’s waltz came next,
An elegant but careful dance.
( Not keen on the short ballroom gown,
The flash of knicker did not enhance.)
Our man Artem’s Cha Cha was next,
Natalie his partner in crime.
I laughed out loud at his outfit,
It would look good in a pantomime!!
But as usual Artem’s choreography
Was intricate, stylish & bright.
Natalie danced with precision & flair,
By far the best dance of the night!
On Saturday the rest of them danced,
What on earth lay ahead that night?
Another disastrous dress from Tess,
I wish she’d get these things right!
Ben & Kristina danced first, all in red,
Kristina did her usual thing,
She Cha Cha’d around her partner
While he stood there in his bling!
Fiona & Anton’s waltz was pleasant,
Nice to see Anton with a chance.
Once her nerves have settled,
I think Fiona will show she can dance.
As soon as Karen & Dave took the floor,
The laughter began from the crowd
I’ve never seen anything quite like it,
Watching my TV I laughed out loud!
Their Cha Cha was a revelation,
As Dave threw himself around.
Karen seemed helpless with laughter,
Another favourite I seem to have found!
An elegant waltz followed this mayhem,
Danced by Rachel the numbers girl.
Demure & beautiful; gracefully danced,
As Pasha made her spin & twirl.
Next came the madness called Julien,
Him of the ridiculous bling .
Janette& he danced down a catwalk,
Of crystals he is the king!.
The dragon we know as Deborah,
The Tango with Robin she danced.
A very creditable performance,
For a Tango she had a good stance.
Our Casualty actor called Patrick,
With Anya, danced a great Jive,
Rhythm & stamina all very good,
They made the place come alive!
Vanessa & James in fluorescent pink,
Cha Cha’d rather a plodding dance.
Must admit I expected fireworks
She thoroughly enjoyed her prance!!!!!!
Abby & Aljaz’s beautiful Waltz,
Had they kept the best ‘til last?
Stunning, romantic and elegant,
That night they would not be surpassed.
So there we have it, all have danced,
All have tried their best.
Some were great, some were daft,
Next week would be the test.
Next Saturday we, the public, vote,
It will be interesting for us to see,
Who has the biggest fan-base.
I know who does it for me.
Hairy Dave and Karen for laughter,
Iveta and Mark for joy,
Kevin and Suzanna for enthusiasm,
But Artem’s still my favourite boy!
So I wish them all the best of luck ,
But for now my vote goes to Artem.
He & Natalie are great to watch,
This new team we now call Nartem.
Looking forward to Saturday but may have to Sky+ it,as it may be the only day we can see the munchkins , & they always come first!!
