Nooney - thanks for your take on the dances - sorry to cut the post, but the first ^^^^ made me laugh. Thing is, I don't think she is all that proper in real life but she does come across that way in her dancing. As for Fiona, I'll have to rewatch to see if she was any good. I was too distracted and traumatised by the appearance of Little Anton
![]() What did I miss? Don't answer that if you mean what I think you mean![]() Nooney great to read your take on the dances. So quiet here, everyone must be next door

Yes, me too. I got that one wrong.
Totally agree, how good was it to see our Artem centre stage for the pro dance. I liked the partnership with Janette too. Quote:
Aw, Tony's a sweetie. Sorry to see him leave too.
Loved the pro-dance. Can't say the same for the Matt Goss number ![]() 'Keep swinging' Bless Tony, a real sweetie indeed. The Matt Goss number just didn't work..was it supposed to be jazz. Thanks Soupy and Wrenny for the link.

Suzanna and Kevin – I liked her hair and dress. Quite sharp, well danced (didn’t notice her raised shoulder). There’s not much connection between them yet, but early days.
Tony and Aliona – Not much to say. Probably the best he could manage in the circumstances. Lovely bloke though. Natalie and Artem – Lovely lilting Waltz, beautifully in time with the music, but I think she needs to relax a bit more (easy to say) into the dancing. I though just before the end pose, when she looked towards the camera, she looked a bit ill at ease (maybe some of the dizziness), not sure. Dave and Karen – He tried I think but it didn’t really work this week. Quite flat footed and stiff arms. Still love ‘em though. ![]() Patrick and Anya – I’m still not connecting with him I’m afraid. The band and singers struggled with the song which didn’t help. A bit stiff and expressionless for me. Deborah and Robin – Liked it on the whole. Lots of Cha Cha steps. Her hips weren’t as good as in training but I still enjoyed it as did she I think. ![]() Rachel and Pasha – She went for it (good on her) but it was a little wild and forced. The judges gave good advice on the whole if a bit harsh. Vanessa and James – Difficult to know whether her emotion was genuine or not to be honest. Lots of running steps and not enough actual Waltz. Julien and Janette – What was War Drobe thinking! Weird outfit for both of them. I thought he danced as though he needed to have a pee! ;I’m glad he kept quieter this week!Fiona and Anton – She wasn’t too bad until she went wrong. ‘Little Anton’ was rather a distraction!!! ![]() Mark and Iveta – Iveta has been really clever with her teaching, getting the best out of Mark so far. I’m enjoying watching them dance and look forward to what they come up with next week. Sophie and Brendan – Loved it! Dance of the night for me. Some of the lifts were a bit iffy but she had great double bounce action, not so much swivel. Also looking forward to what she can come up with next. Ben and Kristina – He’s just too stiff and you could see him thinking about the steps the whole way though. I hope he can relax into the dancing soon. Abbey and Aljaz – Unfortunately she went wrong right at the start and struggled from then onwards which was a shame as I think it could have been a great dance. Ashley and Ola – Enjoyed the routine very much. Old school pizazz. He’s definitely got rhythm. Wasn’t keen on Ola’s hair do. |

The camera loves Artem! Was anyone one else on the dancefloor? I'm still struggling to spot which pros are partnering each other
![]() I loved his and Natalie's waltz last night - technically very difficult and danced with apparent ease! I was in heaven - a waltz should be understated! A quiet storm! In a competitive pro-final the waltz is the first of 4or 5 dances, depending if the vw is included. It's usually a 'stating a claim' dance - elbows out, posture exaggerated .... Artem and Natalie did just that! Technically supreme! |

Thanks for that KD. You know Len mentioned something........a reverse something or other. Do you know where that was in the routine and whether the camera picked it up? Would love to know.
![]() Double reverse turn? Let me go and watch it again ... See if I can find it! Basically it's two heel turns on the bounce ... Very tricky! Normally a foxtrot gets praise if there's 1 heel turn - knowing Artem, week 2 ... There would be a double reverse turn! Talk about making life difficult! .

.Feel bad for replying to my own post! Have watched it twice now and didn't catch it on screen ... But giving them both credit xxx If Len mentioned it they must have choreographed it and executed it well! |

I have had such a pleasant evening waching last night's show and tonight's result show! Could it be that the new pros are setting higher standards? I agree with what most posters have put up and would just like to add a couple of thoughts.
I am totally drawn in by Kevin and love what he achieves with Susanne. But not being a tango-fan their dance was not one of my favourites tonight. Karen made me laugh out loud when, during their routine, she stepped on the chair so Dave could 'carry' her on his shoulders. I am not into Dave, but am mesmerised by Karen every time she dances, and I adored her dress ![]() Yvetta for me was the star of tonight. How she choreographed a dance that was so much fun to watch, to great music and with a celeb who can hardly move is beyond me. And, above all, this wasn't slapstick, for me the dance was believable (unlike other Russel Grant and Lisa Riley routines). Loved what hair/dress/ and make-up department did with her. Aljaz choreographed a good routine as well, and I like his partnership with the gorgeous blonde. Sorry for her she made some mistakes, but it's week 2, it was a full on routine and they're entitled to making mistakes, otherwise there wouldn't be room left to improve. I absolutely loved Artem's and Natalie's waltz to one of the most beautiful songs ever. One of my favourites! I did not like Nat's dress so much, for the waltz I rather prefer the more dreamy fairy-tale with-lots-of-layers dresses, and I agree with other posters that the hair-dresser's department definitly have to come up with something different than that humongous bun on top of her head. The lovely girl has way too much hair which gives the bun rather the feel of a millstone Granted, Sophie's Charleston was very good, great routine by Brendan and well done by Sophie, but they don't do it for me. It was good fun. These couples are the ones to watch for me up to now, but things may change as we go along. Good night

![]() ![]() I'm really preferring ITT right now. Poor Tony (bless him). Did you all see the tango colour of Artem during the bit about James 'complaining' about the new dancers? He was just as double-dipped as in the first show. I think he's addicted. ![]()

Thanks SWM. I saw that at the weekend. I think the question was along the lines,...you are on a boat and can only take artem or chocolate..to which she replies..don't go there..I'd need a bigger boat

as someone suggested because a) we haven't got a vast expanse of sand like that - more pebbles ! and b) it isn't blue!

Enjoyed the show so much more than last week. Some quick thoughts...
Natalie and Artem deserve top spot. Their waltz was beautiful and they both looked gorgeous. Sophie and Brendan performed the dance of the night. Brilliant Charleston. Very entertaining and Sophie looked like she just stepped out of the Great Gatsby movie. Abbey and Aljaz. She clearly lost it and was overmarked. However she is a natural dancer and I hope her nerves don't continue to let her down. Oh and agree with the other bits as well Anam. Quote:
I really liked Nat & Artem's waltz too but she reminds me of Kara at this stage of the show. She's performing all of the steps as instructed, has grace and musicality, but she hasn't learnt to relax into the music yet. I think she'll be amazing when she "feels" the dance as well as performs it.

At last!
Tony - Oh bless. It was very sedate but not totally horrible IMO. Nat - very good, very easy to watch. I think she just needs to let go a bit and 'sweep' with the romance of it all. Rachel - She's the Julie Andrews of dance - soooo proper, too proper. I'd love to her be able to have confidence and just go for it. Julien - not as 'screaming' as previously but camp as Christmas. Don't totally hate. Ahslee - Like him a lot, loads and loads of potential. Love his grace. A bit joggy, but you can see him feeling the music and the style of it. Withore ease with the whole process and I think he might be a winner . Favourite dance of the night for me. )Julie Andrews of dance - ![]() ![]() Wellllll not totally hating Julien but please dance lords let him be out next - pretty please ??? Liking Ashlee, not liking Ola's hair, and third favourite dance of the night for me. Quote:

Vanessa and James – Difficult to know whether her emotion was genuine or not to be honest. Lots of running steps and not enough actual Waltz. Ashley and Ola – Enjoyed the routine very much. Old school pizazz. He’s definitely got rhythm. Wasn’t keen on Ola’s hair do. See it's the Ola hair thing again ![]() Sorry for hacking away at so many posts but you are all so good at saying what I think that I blame everyone but myself ! ![]() Howeverrrr, is it just me who like's Natalie's hair up, in the right sort of dance of course, I mean perfect for showing off that lovely neck-line and it does make me think elegant rather than doughnut ![]() I've been on Strictly catch up like crazy - well having actually got back last week and in time to watch Saturday night's show as well. However the sight of Artem's cossack costume thing for the Cha Cha had such a profound effect on me that it took several days alone to get over. ('n all this on top of jet lag ) And I don't mean profound in a good way - a 'knickerbocker' for want of a better word can only ever be one thing - distressing. Anyway much enjoyed the show this week, loving Claudia as always and hoping to be jumping into this and the Nat & Artem thread more now that some sort of normality has returned.

Oh and agree with the other bits as well Anam. Agree as well - because I am far too lazy to think of this stuff for myself. I may be in the wilderness here but I will miss Aliona (I always miss Aliona bouts of bonkerness Julie Andrews of dance - ![]() Wellllll not totally hating Julien but please dance lords let him be out next - pretty please ??? Hi Nina Hope you had a wonderful holiday. Good to see you back in here and see you on the N&A thread too!
![]() Someone on the main forum said (paraphrasing) about Ola's hair. Viewed from one side she looked sexy and from the other side like Margaret Thatcher! Sooooo true!
