Having trouble finding a local cinema to me that it's showing it. Was Kara fab?

Would love to go see it but the combination of available cinema locations and very late show times has put me off so far.

She was fabulous indeed! Hope it does well, cinemas not giving it a fair chance at the moment. We went to the 22.05 show, only 5 of us in there

Wonder if it will come to France? Rob will be very surprised that I want to see a hitchcockian type thriler wonder if he will notice who is in it?

Yay a musical, that might get me over for a kartemite reunion. I wonder if there would be a leeeetle part for Arty?
Glad to have found my way back here. Got lost in the spoiler thread last night, which turned into an ex-pat, Welsh, Scottish thread, quite friendly and entertaining. They lured me into imbibing a bit to much calvados, but luckily soupy and wrenny arrived to remind me where I belonged. Thanks

Thanks for the link SMW Oooh, as usual I missed her this morning (don't watch much TV at all). Was it an interview or were she and others just there for most of the show? I'm wondering if it is available to watch anywhere yet?

until you bring it over ...

I would say they are just joking about a musical but nice idea!

Unlike nina-s I'm up with the birds, even on a Sunday so caught Sunday Brunch. Being on this thread spoils you for when Kara gives an interview because you know what she is going to say What was new is that there are plans for her to help launch a new campaign next year for dyslexia awareness.

Do you think the limited release of the film is due to it's budget? Such a shame it didn't attract more commercial backing. Would love to hear more of your thoughts on the film tracynoe.

My guess is that the film's producer hasn't been able to get a good distribution deal. The big cinema chains want films that are going to pull in the large crowds and perhaps Dougray & Kara aren't well known enough to do this. Or the film doesn't tick the right boxes: not really a romance, not really a blockbuster adventure/thriller. Sorry to hear only 5 in the audience at tracynoe's show. It is a sort of self-fulfilling prophesy. Put the film on at a strange time and no one is going to be able to come to watch it so it may not last long in the cinema ...

Still trying to catch up with all the links etc. Thanks one and all for posting them here.

Just finished watching the main show, here be my thoughts.

Muting Bruce is ruining my connection with this programme. I seriously and sincerely wish he'd pack it in. I can't stand listening to him because I used to love him so much.

Sophie - soo perfectly 30s in every way. I wonder if all the couples would benefit from having more appropriate music and costumes. Anyway, Sophie's dance was perfectly graceful and very lovely.

Fiona - oh well em…I could only just watch really. It was all a bit 'week one' for me.

Mark - style over content, but he's so loveable. I'm getting a bit obsessed about the inappropriatenessnessnesses of the musical choices.

Ashley - A bit dull really. Thought the song was a dirge.

Oh Lor. I'm so grumpy but these bliddy VTs are killing me.

Julien - I didn't mind it. I can't believe I'm saying this. It was a mess but (like Deborah) he just seems to love it so much.

Rachel - not sure what it is about her. Hm, she looks a bit off kilter a lot of the time. She looked as if she was being dragged around a bit too. Is she too tall for Pasha.

Ben - My G*d didn't Kristina dance for two, she was a whirlwind. I did think Ben looked better - not that many steps but awesome lifts. Lots for the ladees to get excited about.

Deborah - not her best dance but I thought parts of it were very good and a others really poor. I'm still liking her though.

Natalie - Interesting what Darcey said. Arty does love to push the choreo. I did like it very much and thought Nat did a wonderful job. I wonder if different costumes and music would have made it more perfect?

Patrick - my favourite dance of his so far. He still looks a bit off - can't work out what it is - but this was smooth stuff.

Abbey - just a bit lacking to me but that could be the music (again). I liked the dance though and thought she danced it beautifully. Abbey didn't look at all happy with Tess's comment about mud wrestling with Alijaz, did she.

Dave - I adore Karen, she looked so gorgeous in her beautiful dress. I think she's clever to give Dave a small amount to do and dress the rest up to suit his character. He's just not a natural, bless him. Shining attitude.

Susannah - a bit messy but I think the music didn't help (again) to get the Samba groove. Not horrible though. I love Kev.

Well here goes then, being careful not to ruin it for others going to watch it.

I thought the story was very good, I didn't mind the longish run up before the action started, the characters built in that time so you knew them but wasn't sure who was a goodie and who was a baddie.

I thought the acting was very good by all the cast, the little boy was adorable. I think the biggest compliment to Kara is the fact I forgot it was her I was watching.

It's not a film I would normally go to the cinema to see but if circumstances had seen me there without Kara being in it, I would be glad to have seen it and recommend to others.

Thanks for the musings Noony.

I get what you mean about Bruce, he is getting increasingly like some random old bloke who just wanders about shouting at people, this is not a good presentation style in anyone's book. Surely but surely this has to be his last year ???

Natalie & Artem, best dance of the night but the look and music so not for me. Still I thought she was fab.

Abbey my second fav, not the sharpest tango but there was a presence about it, she moved well and I am beginning to love her total 'mardy face' looks in the Tess pit.

Sophie third fav, lovely old skool stuff beautifully danced.

My favourite dance from Patrick, he also seemed to really enjoy it which also helped.

Have to say I really did not like Mark & Iveta. It's not them, just that ruddy song and styling, it was almost like watching Richard Madely doing Ali G - if there was a joke there I totally didn't get it.

Julian I thought at least gave it some welly (and some hips) and although I have declared an avowed dislike to him I will be woman enough to say that I preferred him to Ben, who spent most of time chucking Kristina around. Ben remains lovely as ever, and has great guns but there was a huge amount of window dressing in that dance.

Ashley & Fiona respectively - I agree meh stuff. Although I wanted to like Ashely's dance more, but it just sort of drfited by.

Rachel, she just seems off balance, and I didn't really get why they had to be bankrobbing ?? - it is 'we have new props and we must use them' ? Does this mean the lamposts will become redundant ?? What will happen to the coatstand ??? And the bridge ???? How can I begin to surmise so much from one kind of off kilter quickstep???

Debs & Robin - frankly Robin's wig scared me too much to really concentrate,it reminded me of 'Rainbow' from kids tv back in the 70s - if Zippy had appeared on the judging panel instead of Craig I wouldn't have been suprised. There was glitter, and bad shoes, can't remember much more.

Dave was ok - just ok - I'm not the biggest fan although I know there's a lot of love around for him. Karen is great though, liked her last ,like her even more this year.

Susannah I thought did the best with a difficult concept thing going on, and she does sell it well. Kevin from Grimsby and his glasses - if there was a cute heart smilie I'd use it. Loved his comment in the Tess pit

Evening Swoonies. Here are my thought on the show last night.

Sophie She kept a great frame thoughout. Enjoyed it. Quite understated. Nice frock on a bad War Drobe week!

Fiona - I'm afraid it was dreadful. Awful song, awful choreography (no flow to it). She can't seem to remember a routine though. Such a shame.

Mark - Not much Cha Cha but they sold the dance and I just love watching them both together. She's working to his actor assets. over marked though.

Ashley - Sooooooo slow!!! I kind of soned out I'm afraid and I live him!

Julien - You could see he's trying and working hard, but I didn't really enjoy it that much.

Rachel - All I can say is that Rachel must've upset War Drobe!!! Fast and furious and she couldn't keep up with it. A bit messy. Pasha's fault imo.

Ben - I like Ben a lot but he didn't hardly dance much, so well overmarked!

Deborah - Not her dance was it! A bit stompy and she was out of time a lot. God awful costumes!

Natalie - Simply wonderful choreography from Artem. Didn't like the costumes or her pom pom hair! I winced through it first time around but managed to really enjoy it on second viewing. Beautiful timing thoughtout! Did she say up in the Tesspit that she was high as a kite?

Patrick - This is the first time I've enjoyed one of his dances. Good Cha Cha though I thought his hips were a bit stiff. Wasn't keen on Anya's look! A bit tarty.

Abbey - Weird eye make up and the dres was a bit too floaty for a tango I thought. I really enjoyed the dance in spite of the awful music. She was focused and sharp.

Dave - I do love him but that was a bit stiff and staid. For me, he's reaching the end of his shelf life.

Susanna - She certainly goes for it, but I didn't really enjoy it very much and I'm not sure why. Maybe a bit forced.

PS: Bruce really needs to retire, that is all! Awful last night!

To be fair, Julien made a great exit. Will I miss his mega watt smile and high voltage voice - no, but he was gracious in defeat. He really did have the time of his life. Janette was the perfect partner for him, I hope she returns next year.

Rachel will be vulnerable now. She looked upset, bless they all really seem to love it
