Sounds promising. Fingers crossed for Kara. I hope some of these new projects come to fruition.

Attended an absolute beginners salsa class yesterday evening. A lot of fun and good exercise. Much harder than it looks. I don't think the SCD judges would have been impressed by my almost complete lack of hip action. I was too busy counting the steps … Looking forward to next week.

I am jealous. Being Strictly inspired a few years back I went to one with a female friend,. It was in a pub, there were only two blokes and the drinkers stood around watching.
I didn't go back.

I have been looking at the Fit Step Classes which Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe have devised. They seem quite widely available around the country. They seem to incorporate basic dance steps with exercise!

Went to the final day of the Vettriano exhibition today. Had to queue for about 40 minutes for a ticket, but was worth it. There were over 100 paintings and was amazed at those who were collectors of his work, Tim Rice, Jack Nicholson, Jackie Stewart, Alex Ferguson, AL Kennedy, and many others from far afield I've never heard of. . They had all given their paintings to the exhibition. I recognised a few that were available as cards, posters etc. but was surprised at those we have never seen before. I was looking out for the one he did of Kara last year but that was not in the exhibition. His latest work was dated 2011 . Presume arrangements for this major exhibition were well in advance by the time he did it. Maybe they're will be another in future.!!. Was never a great fan of his, but after seeing them up close have changed my mind. They are away from the establishment, no bad thing. The exhibition ran from September until today. The visitors have exceeded all expectations and in the last week due to numbers increased there hours from finishing at 5.00pm until 8.00pm. Says it all really!!!

Congrats to Kimberley, but can't see her tripping the light fantastic later this year (but maybe the gals are putting a show together rather than performing in it....)

I love Vettriano's work and always have. His stuff is reminiscent of Edward Hopper, who I also love. I have a couple of framed Vettriano prints but I'm yet to get my favourite, which has always reminded me of being on holiday, specifically that lovely part of the day when you've been on the beach all day and are having a drink before going to dinner I just wish I had legs like this!

That painting was in the exhibition, can't remember who it belongs to now. What I did notice Jack Nicolson had a few of the "erotica" in his collection.

I can just imagine him looking at them with that "Nicolson" smile on his face, wearing his Ray-Bans

“She said, “I’m teaming up with
Kimberley Walsh and Kara Tointon for
a dancing and singing show.”

She added, “We get on great, so it’ll be

‏Seems luigy nextdoor was right....

@KristynBurtt
#DWTS Troupe: Lindsay, Jenna Johnson-#sytycd S10, Artem Chigvintsev #scd....and last-minute add....Sasha!!!

Kristyn reports on Hollywood goss, red carpet stuff etc and she hosts an online show about DwtS

Dunno what I think about this. Great he has work, but I do hope it doesn't herald a move to doing DwtS instead of SCD

Hi FS,

I’ve been following this too and am pretty pleased, if it’s true, that Artem will be in the troupe with Sasha (who seems to be popular).

I’m sure that he would have preferred to be a full pro but this will give his dancing and choreography skills a weekly platform in the US – which he really needs, as he has a much higher profile in the UK.

It seems perfectly possible for a pro to do the Spring season of DWTS and the Autumn season of SCD each year + the SCD Tour. (I would have loved for Artem to be the first pro to do this as a teaching pro).

To be quite honest, I thought this was going to happen last Spring when there seemed to be concern about both Maks and Derek not taking part. I thought the producers may put in Artem as an experienced pro and past winner of SCD to try to fill the gap that those two big characters would leave. Derek did take part in the end. I wonder if this scenario has happened this year?

I know the past relationship with CarrieAnn has been discussed as being a block to Artem being a pro on DWTS but, personally, I think there is a big enough time gap for that not to be considered an issue now.

Good luck to him in this venture and I don’t think this means that he will not return to SCD.

Good reading the above . Some speculation yesterday that he had not been chosen and was devastated... I'm sure there are a lot of skilled dancers going for the group role in DWTS .So congrats to him . Seem to remember him kicking his heels a bit last year during his enforced time away .With luck he may even get citizenship this trip and that would make travel so much easier for him . Wonder if Kara's venture has been affected by Kimberly's pregnancy ? Looks like her life is busy and varied..We have a touring version of Pygmalion. In town soon but no Kara.
OT there was an amazing show of the Northern Lights in Orkney this past week . They call.them the heavenly dancers and it lasted for hours I didn't catch them in our area but saw some amazing pics by OS daughter .if you follow her on face book Have a peek .

Hi Wingi - really hope you're right about him coming back. I suppose if (as luigy claimed) he was in the running for teaching pro this time, I'm just a bit anxious about what he would choose to do if that opportunity came round again in the autumn. I wouldn't blame him for choosing DwtS (money, wider audience etc), but, on the other hand, they are pretty ruthless with some of their pros. Draft someone in for a season to match up with a celeb and then dropped forever after; bridges burned elsewhere. If he can do Spring there and Autumn here, then ... great...everyone's a winner . Be pretty cool if he could be the first one to do both.

Anyway, it gives me a real incentive to watch DwtS. (Lost interest last time and gave up).

Unfortunately, without the results show, the troupe's role is much reduced but a few weekly morsels of Arty are better than nowt .

Waving hello Everyone I am in the camp that thinks this is great publicity for Mr C though my first concern was he might not have finished the run in time for SCD too. Have been thoroughly reassured on that by a DWTS aficionado that should not be the case now looking forward to an out-of-season Artem fix. Every cloud and all that.....

BIB For those not on FB here is the link to my daughter's spectacular photos of the Aurora Borealis which we had the privilege to enjoy for over seven hours overnight Thursday.
