DISAAASSSSTER! It is hopefully just a case of work/visa situation. Kara herself has quite a lot going on workwise so it may be difficult for her to hop off to LA. Here's hoping.

All I know is that Artem is living the single life here in the US and I know this from what A LOT of people who have met him (during DWTS or on AfterBuzztv ) say.


They even seem surprised that he has a GF in the UK (Kara ). So Idk if this answers your question.

And there is a lot of talk about him being a pro on DWTS next season. I hope it isnt true because I will miss him on SCD and Im sorry to say but he wont get as much shine on Dwts like he does on SCD. But don't be surprised if he doesn't come back for SCD.

Me too, hate to say it but you would think now that DWTS is over for this season he would want to come back and see a Kara ! I have just seen a picture of him with friends on holiday at Yosemite falls ! I have a horrible feeling they may have split, and if he dosnt come back to SCD then I think that's our conformation sadly !

But talk is just that. People on forums and blogs and twitter speculating and saying who they'd like to see as pros next time....just like happens here . I know that someone on one of the blogs (who probably does have inside info) says Artem was 'aggressively pursued' for DwtS this time round. Maybe he was pegged as a pro until the last minute changes, but he ended up in a minor role. The troupe is the obvious place for them to cast from, but other things come into play and, anyway, I don't think it's cut and dried that he would choose DwtS (if offered both). There are pros and cons to both choices.

New pros on DwtS nearly always have to perform invalid duty for a couple of seasons, (if they even last more than one), so I know where I'd rather see him dance.

Hiya, Soupy. I dashed straight to this thread when I read the news elsewhere. Not altogether surprised that Artem is staying in the US, although very disappointed not to see him on SCD - I've never been able to get into DWTS, although I have seen Tristan on a few YT clips and, as you say, every cloud has a silver lining.

Sorry that Anya hasn't got a regular gig either - she was excellent last year. And do I win a prize for predicting months ago that Joanna Clifton would be a new signing now that she's retired from competitive ballroom?

Cue endless tabloid speculation about Kara and Artem's relationship...

I'm disappointed about Anya, too. I didn't love the partnership last year, but enjoyed her dancing and choreo and I really hoped she'd get another chance. Not really clear on Aliona. Do we think she's back? Tristan's lovely, but he's not a particularly interesting choreographer. I do feel the show will lose a great deal without Artem's choreo

That's so true. His choreography was always so thought provoking. I'm GUTTED.

Not entirely unexpected, but gutted at the news. Although always loved SCD Artem gave it another dimension which will be missed.
Also, although never confirmed, his relationship with with Kara is probably over. All very sad.:

Really sad that we're not going to be able to enjoy Artem's choreography on Strictly anymore. He'll be sadly missed by many I think.

Just spotted the headline...whilst not really surprised still a bit gutted.

I wish Arty every success in his new ventures. Thanks to him I have enjoyed SCD even more what with his sublime choreography and the unforgettable dance partnership with Kara. It brought real pleasure and this thread!

just popping back in to say how gutted I am that Artem won't be back on SCD this year.
Such a shame...although am not shocked as the writing was on the wall that this would happen. I only hope that DWTS give him a slot as a pro and not just in the troupe so we get to see more of his wonderful choreography,, although it won't be the same
I wish him all the best and still support him.

Looking on the bright side because of Kara and Artem lots of nice friendships have been struck up.
Not keen on DWTS. It's not shown here so doubt will see much of Artem in the future, and will miss his superb dancing and choreography, but will be able to follow Kara's career.

are Kara and artem still together then with his permanent move to US

If that's correct, it does sound as if he was offered a DwtS contract. Lets hope it's as a teaching pro and not in the (slightly superfluous) troupe so we can see a bit more of him.
