Oh well, I suppose the hint was in how happy and relaxed he's looked in all the pics we've seen, he certainly looks as though he feels he's made the right decision. Maybe there was a bit more truth in the tabloid stories than we would have liked there to be.

I'll miss both him and James on SCD and ITT. It feels a bit like the end of an era tbh, what with Brucie going too. This next series is going to be very different to the last one, that's for sure.

Oh, btw, I watched Last Passenger last night and I thought it was quite good. For a relatively low budget film it was very atmospheric. The little boy in it was fab.

Love James's Tweet

Oh my, I'm gutted too. I loved everything about Strictly, even James and Brucie!! Ah, well, I do have the consolation prize of watching Artem on DWTS, twice a year at that, but somehow it's not quite the same.

Been reading all the comments re Artem s news .altho we were maybe half expecting it the main reaction is shock and sadness But .... In the midst of our doom and gloom Mr hardly ever does a tweet manages to tweet and tell us about a great movie he had just watched I found it funny .Does he not realise that SCD in a trice has lost millions of viewers ,? .We the dedicated followers of his bare chest , dancing extraordinaire and brilliant choreography are all just about wearing black armbands ,and he's recommending a movie. Lol . Insensitive Artem , typical male or just not getting how the news has left us (well a bit dramatic ) inconsolable
All tongue in cheek ladies it just struck me as que? Time to move on with out him but a million happy memories .and yes its true SCD will never quite be the same

Hi KA - think I missed this, what with all the ... um ... 'stuff' going on. It's lovely. Makes me feel awfully sad though .

Saw that Kara favourited Artem's tweet about his visa situation. At the very least I would say they are on good terms.

I lurked here for an age! And will miss Artem on SCD too.

I hadn't spotted that that on twitter. I'm sure you're right!

I think lots of us will miss him on SCD. Tristan seems pleasant but he's not in Artem's league if what's on you tube from DWTS is anything to go by.

Thanks for that dancebananas. She was very supportive of him during SCD and the Tour this last time, so I was in no doubt they were on good terms (whatever the nature of the relationship), but it's good to know she's on his side regarding his decision to stay in the US. She's a good soul. (You should have delurked sooner , but welcome to the thread )

Tristan's a lovely person and very funny (in a quiet sort of way) and a patient teacher who really wants his celebs to have a good experience. I think he'll be popular on the show, but I don't think he would claim to be the most exciting dancer or choreographer, but he has other good qualities to offer so I hope people will give him a chance . I'm thinking the female pros (Aliona, Natalie, Iveta and hopefully Joanne) are looking more interesting. With a bit of luck, Artem will get a teaching pro role on Dwts (and not someone hopeless - though I'm less confident about that!) so we will still be able to see him doing what he does best, just not in the circumstances we'd most like. I'm trying to talk myself into a better frame of mind about it because at the moment I'm royally cheesed off - not aided by some poisonous bad-mouthing going on on one of the US sites. Gah!

ETA: I should say, in fairness, that there are other sites there where people seem quite excited about the prospect of having Artem on their show

I have to be totally honest and say that the romantic in me is crushed at the news (I'm soppy, I know). I'm assuming that Kara hasn't moved home and the tweet a few months back was actually referring to Kara moving Artem's stuff .

Whether it's permanent or temporary, it's sad; not least because Kara was always a dog person and now she's left to look after two giant Pixie Bob cats . I suppose she should be grateful he wasn't a horse lover really

Soups, I'm sure you are right about him being a good teacher etc but I think of the males, it will be Alijaz or possibly Pasha who'll provide the more exciting choreography and dancing of all the males this season. One or two of the existing Tristan supporters have outed themselves in their Artem bashing posts on the MF. But as always, including with the girls, much will depend on the celebrities.

Re the US sites, I didn't know they existed. Are there many? Not that I want to read any more Artem bashing stuff. It's bad enough here!

How do you watch DWTS? You tube? I don't think it appears here as a full programme does it?

Morning lateone As far as I'm aware, it is only available on YT and I will definitely be watching if Artem has a celeb this autumn. I've never quite got into it up till now!

One of the US sites has just closed down and a new one just set up. (previously.tv - seems reasonable but not very busy). There's the ABC Dwts board (chaotic and annoying) and a DwtS blog run by folk who worship Derek. Good for news and scoops but truly vile in other ways (there are some decent people there too, of course ).

DwtS isn't currently on tv. There doesn't seem to be an officially available online source. I watch via YT clips stitched together in the right order to see the whole show. Someone was posting the entire thing on YT this last season but several days later. ABC sometimes go on a purge and the channels get taken down. Other links I've been given wanted me to download stuff to watch and I chickened out! Best thing is to visit the DwtS thread on DS nearer the time when it's clear who'll be posting good quality clips. If Artem gets a teaching role, I'll put his links in here.

I would have said Aljaz and Pasha on the men's side too, but I wasn't wowed by their choreography last season. Pasha seemed to struggle to adapt to a poor student and Aljaz produced some nice routines in the ballroom, but I never thought 'wow!'. Like them both, so hope they step up. I reckon, given they've gone for more male celebs this time, that the female cast might be a bit weak (as the men were last time). Suppose it depends on how much manipulation they go in for. It might be interesting to watch the show without being particularly invested for once! .

Hi Soupy, thanks for offering to put the links to Artem's dancing for DWTS here (providing he is given a celeb of course, which I hope he is).

It's finally sinking in with me that we're not going to have his gorgeous dancing on our screens for the forseeable future. He so stood out as a natural dancer. Nothing was ever forced or overdanced with him and yet he danced with his whole being (specially noticeable when seeing him live).

Hi Wrenster, waves madly across the Atlantic.

Hi BV, waves madly across the Altantic and the English Channel.

I tried to multi quote but have forgotten how.

Sad news indeed, and yes, reality has a way of getting in the way of a good fairy tale.

Wrennie I totally agree with your sentiments. Fortunately, I will be able to continue watching Artem over here, DWTS permitting, and hope all Artemites will be able to do so too somehow. I often lurk on DS for a Kartem fix now and again and hope people will continue to post. It has been a special journey for me getting to meet some of you and reading the comments of others Thank you very much ............ who would've thought!!

Lol! If they get great celebs, they could be fab . Do you feel as if you got to know Aljaz last year? He comes across as a nice, affable chap, but I find I don't have an opinion on him. Praps Abbey did all the chatty . (And I'm none the wiser about Pasha after 3 series and seeing his stage show twice! He gives nothing away. )

I refuse to believe that Kara and Artem have gone their separate ways and I base this solely on the fact that I don't want it to be true. Therefore, they are still together, but having a long distance relationship until such time as Artem gets his visa sorted out.

I also refuse to listen to those who blather on about Artem's innovative choreograthy in a derogatory manner. If dance doesn't evolve, and tell a story we'll be stuck with 15 couples doing exactly the same thing, if you get my meaning

Spot on as ever, Soupy. No, I don't feel I know either of them, just smiley dancers! I think that's it, they are both a safe pair of hands. There's no edge to them, no real excitement. And yes, I think Pasha struggled with Rachel but all her personal problems (marital and a stalker) which came out later can't have helped.
But they have their supporters, Pasha especially touring 3 times!

I couldn't agree more, postit. I've got no issue with people not liking Artem's style or choreography (they're just wrong, of course, but that's their business ), but I don't understand why anyone would want to watch 15 identikit couples .

You're right - with hindsight, Rachel probably wasn't at her most focused. BIB Oh, I hadn't heard about that. Poor woman!
