We knew they'd keeping using Ste as the cockblock, and this does setup an exit pretty nicely for Doug. Going back to his exhusband after having chosen the love of his life would be a betrayal of his feelings to Brendan, I can't see Ste actually wanting to be with Doug again. Hopefully they won't even do insecure Ste thing again where he tries to have feelings and forces himself to be with Doug again because it's the right decision or something either, and then Doug goes to America because he can't be in the same village with someone he can't get over. And this must be when they settle the CP and do something with the deli.

I think I just lost whatever bit of respect I had for Doug. Ste leaves him for a man he despises, just a few weeks after their wedding and the day they are due to leave to start a new life together and then later he tells him that he never loved him and yet Doug still wants to go back to being second best.

I'm pretty sure PJ specified in his latest interview that Doug knows Brendan is the love of Ste's life and that knowing that hurts him, so I'm sure that Doug won't actually fool himself into thinking that he has a chance of getting Ste back (or even if he does, he won't succeed ).
And yeah Bonnie, the CP/deli stuff smells of an exit plot to me.

But I don't see them getting back together, I mean PJ and Kieron barely have scenes anymore and last Wednesday PJ came out at like 3 but didn't even know Kieron was in when he'd been in all day...

Also all the evidence, especially now with this spoiler, makes it seem like PJ could be leaving. Hmmm, only time will tell.

Really though - there's no story there. Ste's on his drug dealer path, he's away from the deli (I can't exactly see them pressing reset and putting him back, I wouldn't rule it out) and they had so many "couple" stories when they were together - with their only real breaking point being Brendan, what on earth would they give them to do now?! I'd suggest my worst nightmare which'd be Doug "saving" Ste from all the drug and dark stuff or being there for him through the Pauline stuff but we know that doesn't happen.

Needless to say I am livid at the new spoilers. What the hell are they doing to Doug? Why are they stripping all that development he made when he came back from America? He was just beginning to get himself back on track, I'd even take him being happy with JP over this. And yeah, not JP's biggest fan but seeing Doug happy and involved in plots outside Ste has been a million times better. No one's happy about this. Like everyone else people are putting it into three options (from what I've seen in the tags) i.e. PJ's leaving, Stug are getting back together or it's an obstacle for McCarter. All fill me with dread. I hate this show.

Also ffs having Ste get beaten again. Stupid Trevor.

Maybe that's what Kieron meant in his interview, and this upcoming stuff of him being beaten and bloodied brings back all of Doug's feelings, and finally Ste gets through to him that he doesn't want him in his business and Doug's done?

But Jesus Christ, why won't they just let it be dead already ? I'd be worried we can never believe it'll ever be over since they keep ending it and then bringing it back up again.

I can't even understand why Doug has to love Ste this much, he just hugged him a year ago and there's a whole world out there, JP is better suited to him, it's all just so stupid.

But yeah, PJ must be leaving it really seems like. Why ruin McCarter like this because can they really come back from this? And that was Doug's only storyline, and PJ's not involved with any of the Ste stuff and it's iffy he's even been working.
