I just find it funny in hindsight but still can't figure out what the problem was, I agree with dannii when she said she doesn't agree with the way sharon behaves but I still like her and I don't believe danni was purely innocent either.

I'm not 100% what happened. But I remember Dannii explaining how on the first live show, Sharon had called Dannii to her dressing room. But Dannii had been celebrating a friends birthday in her own. And when Dannii didn't come, Sharon stormed into her room and started swearing and ranting. I think Sharon pretty much confirmed this had happened in her Piers Morgan interview. It apparently all happened about a half hour before they were due to go on air.

Also I think Dannii felt uncomfortable around Sharon in the auditions because she said it was like treading on egg shells around her. I'm not sure why though. I guess because Sharon has quite a big personality so that could intimidate her

I think it began with Sharon not liking a new female coming on. Then she discovered that Dannii wasnt the airhead she thought shed be ( Sharon wrote this in her book) and from there things got heated.

Then she read an article in Mirror which she believed was true (Dannii was quoted saying Sharon & Louis made her feel younger) so Sharon took swipe at Dannii at the first live show which also was Danniis birthday.
Maybe she thought she could scare Dannii away, make her quit. Who knows.

Sharon didn't like that Dannii was hired for her looks rather than her musical contribution. That's what she said on an interview with Graham Norton where they all ripped into her, and Sharon implied that Dannii was only there because Simon wanted to sleep with her.

She got vilified after that interview, but of course she turned out to be correct.

From what the papers have said (and they never lie ) apparently Sharon was not happy with Louis not being there, she obviously missed him and how it used to be.

So when Louis came back, Sharon realised that it wasn't exactly Louis she missed, it was the threesome of Simon, Sharon & Louis that she missed, and the person in the way of that was Dannii, she said this in her Piers Morgon interview where she said "Dannii was like an annoying mosquito on Holiday where you are just like 'will you just go away?"

Then of course, Dannii was plonked in-between Sharon and Simon, and everybody knew that Sharon & Simon liked team up a bit.

So then, as Dannii and Simon got more and more cosy, then the littlest things that Dannii did, it would annoy Sharon.

Then finally, Dannii kicking Sharons arse in the competition, taking 2 of her 3 boys to the final 2. Sharon was very jealous!

And jealousy is the root to all evil!

Sharon has said herself actually that who they sleep with is not of her business and that she couldnt care less about that.
She just didnt like working with Dannii

^ i was just going to say, sharons been in showbiz for ages now, shes seen it and done it all and lets face it hardly anyone in showbiz is a paragon of virtue so i dont understand why sharon would care if simon and dannii were sleeping together, this is the norm for celebs.

its horrible if it was simple jealousy, or was dannii different behind the scenes? i dont know, its funny because warts and all i like sharon usually and deep down i dont think she is a bad person at all. i used to love dannii but i find her annoying now. maybe both are right and both are wrong?

I think it was more why Dannii was on the panel that Sharon was annoyed with. She wasn't there for credibility or her expertise (lets be honest, even if she did turn into a good judge). When Sharon was hired it was because she is a successful manager, bearing in mind back in 2004 she was quite a big signing for the show. It was before the 'celebrity judge' craze began, which ironically Dannii started, although never really had an impact on other reality programme panels until Cheryl joined in 2008.

I'm very interested to see how Sharon fits into the panel with Louis, Gary and Nicole. I know Sharon & Nicole have history and have supported each other numerous times in the press, but it will be interesting to see if any of that translates to screen.

Thing is Dannii did have a successful music career in the UK, not as good as her sisters but plenty of artists would kill for ONE top 10 record I think she's had 8 top ten singles in the UK. I'd call that successful.

Sharon just came across as a spiteful old woman and really didn't need to do that.

I doubt Sharon is still bitter about Dannii, she just didn't like her, not everyone does.

Sharon didnt like being put on equal status with and then being almost demoted (from sitting beside Simon, having casting votes etc) for someone who at the time of her signing was seen in the UK as (quite affectionately) a has-been.

I don't think it was ever that she was prettier than Sharon or anything like that but also, it meant that Sharon would inevitably now be compared to Danii because they always compare women on things like this. She'd be compared to her all the time with her hair and her clothes and her behaviour - just as Danii and Cheryl were in later serieses. And I suppose as well, it took down the credibility of the show, as Danii's music background was a few tenuous dance-pop and manufactured (or so most people perceived at the time that weren';t Danii fans) singles released mainly 10 years before she was signed up to judge and the fact she had a famous popstar sister. The fact that Simon and Danii got on so well probably grated on her as well.

Agree with this.

Simon knew what he was doing when he changed the dynamics of the panel, especially bringing in a younger, female judge - he wanted a reaction and he certainly got that from Sharon. The fact that people still talk about it, 6 years on, must make him very happy.

Once he got the desired effect, he then brought Cheryl in (younger than Dannii), in an obvious attempt to wind her up.

All I know is that in their separate Piers Morgan interviews Sharon just didn't come across as well as Dannii.
Dannii won a lot of fans from that interview. Piers Morgan even said he thinks thats when everything changed for her.
