Nice to see the time displayed with the i-Banner (mini guide). Although not integrated into the banner, which suggests a half-hearted approach to a decent GUI.
Booting into the Home screen is just a nuisance. Delete all episodes is a welcome time saver. |

Some nice improvements. A few things still bother me:
There is still a long period of blank screen before confirmation of iPlayer loading up. Perhaps not helped by my very slow broadband speed? Players for channels 4 and 5 still 'Coming Soon' ! |

I would like to have the date of recording on items in the recordings list. Currently one has to get to the point of playing an episode to find the programme's date. I only noticed the change because the guide loads at power up which now means I have to press a key to get rid of it.
Typically on power up I want to play recordings and not browse the guide. |

Good to get 4od finally after it was promised coming soon when the box was released. Why have they put on the mini EPG on boot? What I can't understand if they think it's a good idea why not give you the option to turn it off? Same with the screensaver they had on the foxsat HDR which they decided not to put on the 1000s. What I would have liked to see was the ability to setup programs to record from your mobile phone just like the youview box.

Big improvement with the recordings planner as it now displays a page of your recordings at a time as you either page up or down, not that endless page scrolling we had before. I can now easily see all my recordings.
![]() Pity they still can't seem to sort out the faulty YouTube app with the endless loading icon centre screen. How long has it been like that now, 3 months? They could have re-written the entire software in that time never mind located the bug. Oh and still no fix for the pause button i.e. press pause to pause and press again to restart - why can't they implement something so simple. Other manufacturers don't see it as a problem. |

Under the category of "Series recording improvements" you can now cancel a recording of a single episode (including one currently recording that you happened to be watching live) without cancelling the whole series. At least I don't think you were able to do that before.

If you press the pause button it pauses as designed. Pressing pause again when paused does nothing. You have to press play to restart. This is the only bit of kit I've owned where that is the case. Usually pressing pause again will restart your recording. Been discussed many times and was on a wish list. I don't get loading errors, we are discussing the loading symbol centre picture when playing YouTube videos.

Its not an issue as far as I'm concerned, but Faust seems to think that pressing pause to pause and pressing play to play isn't good enough and so pressing pause should pause and resume when pressed again.
Seriously I think it's the only bit of kit I've owned that works like this so I'm constantly getting it wrong when trying to restart programmes.

The Update seems to have cured the most irritating problem of all at least my box no longer crashes & reboots everytime it processes the full list of Mp3's or videos stored in "HUMAX" for the 1st attempt.
Glad to see 4OD very impressed hopefully the missing content from other 4OD formats will be coming soon. great that ALL not just SOME youtube videos now play again I personally can Ignore the LOADING flashing error although obviously if we could lose it that would be better!. Just await Demand 5 Now But overall I am very pleased with the fixes in this latest update. |

Not just me that has mentioned this Gonzo, I think it was on the Freesat forum wish list. Why even the Mars Rover has this facility.

I have an old Toshiba DVD Player where both keys, pause and play, can be used to restart after pause. That would make for an easy transition from the current implementation to that requested.

Just looking at my keyboard which has minimal media buttons on it, it has a dual play pause button that looks like this:
> / ll Why does anyone need a seperate pause button, when you can just do this? |

Another possibly unnecessary change IMHO is that when you skip forward, ff, etc in a recording, the screen now displays the current time.
I also note in the guide screen (shown on power up) that the preview window displays the channel name which is already displayed on the units front display. |

With the HDMI fix I've found out my LG TV has problems picking up the signal if the humax is on record and then it's switched on.

Turn off your TVs HDMI-CEC function for that HDMI input.
