Who should have been fired?

Leah needs to go. she is so negative all the time.

Alex is inexperienced but means well.

Miles is honest and decent, which in this show is very rare.

Myles should have gone but he shouldn't have been given so much flexibility.

Meaning well will not run a business.

I think it should have been Myles. The brand is what let the product down and he was responsible for it in the main. I thought Leah nearly talked herself into trouble but I actually quite like her, she's right when she said she's performed consistently.

Probably Myles but it was very close between him and Alex. I was very disappointed with Alex's leadership after expecting a lot from him.

Right person, he was the weakest out of all the remaining contestants (except maybe Jordan).

I honestly have no idea what he's good at and he really screwed up this task.

I don't especially like Myles. I feel he and Jordan collude to undermine Alex, and possibly others too. I think they're a devious and somewhat unpleasant pair.

Myles was responsible, with his terrible idea. He should have gone, and I think that if the show was still about Lord Sugar finding an apprentice, rather than a business partner, he would have done.

I like that Myles fell on his own sword but he should have been fired. Alex was right that if he hadn't gone with Myles's idea then he wouldn't have had Myles's backing and one can read a subtext into that about the influence Myles holds as a group member. Sadly for Alex, Leah had disagreed with Myles's idea of horrid and healthy. Wish he'd taken more notice of an ally against Myles's idea.

I think he decided he couldn't work with Alex - too many bad ideas, indecision, and being led argued against him. Myles is dull but he has that long CV suggesting ability - even when he's come up with a truly bad idea this week. I would imagine he's toast for the win though now on failed judgement and lacklustre performances. .

Myles - week after week he has gravitated towards the creative end of the tasks he is supposed to be good at, and frankly hasn't performed that well. Leah was right to say that she hasn't always had the front-line roles roles, but she has delivered.

The product failed on the marketing and branding. It had to be Myles fault

Absolutely. Alex clearly knew what would happen if he chose to stick with the Geography idea. The fact that Myles kept on about his Deadly Dinners idea after Alex decided to go with the Geography idea backed him up.


Agreed. Leah had a horrid time in this task. Not only Alex ignored Leah's feedback and suggestions as well as forcing her to take on the chef role (Jordan volunteered), Myles constantly interrupted Leah's pitch and ignored her input. I liked Jordan's contributions, from his constructive suggestions to his pitch, but I felt bad for Leah.

She was obviously bored and fed up with being pushed aside. I wish they hadn't undermined Leah so much. Then again, it was up to Leah to be forceful. I hope she will try to be that in the next task, but it looks like she'll be grouped with Luisa and Francesca.

If that's the case, then Leah and Luisa will unite to ensure that Francesca will be the one to go if they lose the task. Leah and Luisa are good friends so yeah, Francesca is screwed.

I'm surprised because Jordan doesn't seem to like Myles. He seems to view Myles as a difficult force to reckon with, so he tends to stay out of Myles's sight during the decision-making process, e.g. he won't cast his support for anyone including Myles's decision until after it's made. When he has to make a decision in front of Myles, he tends to talk Myles into accepting his idea/decision before checking with the others in the group. As if he knows his idea won't go anywhere if he doesn't have Myles on his side first. Looks like I read him wrong if what you say is right.

I believe Lord Sugar made the correct decision. It's hard for me to say that after his excellent idea during one of the earlier tasks but ultimately it's his lack of planning and strategy that often let's him down, especially in this weeks task. For the first time in the process Alex was project manager. Straight away you could see his discrepancies. He jumped straight onto selling a product instead of planning. His team disagreed, you could see it in their faces. There were two other times that he failed to lead the team effectively as project manager; two out of three pitches. In the first pitch he embarrassed the team as a collective by continuously popping holes into the ready meal packaging and in the second pitch he stood in the sidelines, barely speaking, looking spaced out.

Now don't get me wrong Myles is a smart man but he is definitely to blame for the branding of the product. Nick spotted the fatal error straight away; the skull. It's a good idea but for kids it's something parents would only buy at Halloween and they're hardly going to splash out on a ready meal, it's always going to be sweets.

Although Myles got the branding wrong Alex as the PM made the decision to go with it and based on all the other bad decisions he made during the task, that's why he was fired.

Alex is obviously inexperienced and a bit of a billy bullshitter but he does have something. I think he could go far in future.

If he stuck with his original idea, I think his team could have won. He's right though...he'd have probably hit a number of road works with them.

I think Myles should have been fired. Whilst it was admirable he was prepared to fall on his own sword, he doesn't seem to want it as much as the others tbh.

Agree with this, not sure what the rationale was for his survival today. However, Alex was also poor.

Based on business plan, Alex. His plan was too raw, out there and reminded me a lot of Helen's from series 7 except that Helen was consistently very good apart from the flawed retail plan in the biscuits episode. I agree that Myles hasn't really shown much of himself and I really did not like his comment to Leah it was snide, shrewd, cold and clever and not in a good way. Saying it strengthened his position with Lord Sugar (hence the shrewd bit) and clever because he knew exactly what he was doing. It was unnecessary and rude in my opinion, didn't exactly have an opinion of him either way but I really don't like him much for that, he showed too much of an unpleasant side to him for my liking. I don't care what anyone else says you don't have to be a cold cut-throat person to go into business and its just an excuse to behave badly in the work place.

The idea may have been Myles', but if that was the Idea that Alex chose to go forward with then it's hardly Myles's fault if Alex didn't contend it and go with an alternative idea which he believed in.
If it was wrong then they should have had a stronger alternative.

If Alex just went along with it then he is culpable.

It was strong though, if they had thought about it they could have come up with a lovable cartoon character that would have been the basis of their brand and of course there was the obvious franchise option which would be attractive. The fact of the matter was Myles had an idea and it was going to be used or all hell would pay. It wouldn't have mattered how strong a concept was suggested Myles would still have ignored it. The fact that Alex's idea was strong but needed a lot of work to make it strong enough to stand out is besides the point here, it was clear to me that Myles was going with his idea whether the team liked it or not. Its just a shame that Alex crumbled in the end. Also had the branding been better they would have won easy - they had the better concept, it tasted good, it was quirky but it seemed to work. It was the poor branding that let them down end of. That is really the only reason they lost.

As he is the only ever fanciable Apprentice candidate, it grieves me to say that Myles should have gone tonight. Not because the concept was wrong either, but because he didn't sell it right, to the focus groups, to the buyers or to Alex and Leah. Jordan sold it on its merits. They were essentially conning the kids into thinking they were eating the equivalent of Pot Noodle when they were actually having something fairly nutritious. Jordan pitched it that way, and if it was a real product they could have marketed it to parents in a 'don't tell the kids how many of their 5 a day they will get from eating our brains in blood sauce' way. Alex shouldn't have gone, Leah would not have been much of a loss but Myles is most to blame for both pushing too hard for is vision and then failing to sell its USPs.

For all Myles was well and truly culpable for the task failure, I think LS got it right in booting Alex out this week. Simply put, Alex had zero ability to run his team, it was painful to watch tbh....
