Saying that, with sales having hit saturation before the start of 2013 will it matter much in 2014?”

Interesting question. HTC was producing metal phones when the glass front and back iPhone 4 was released. Now Apple have switched to metal chassis (and ironically Google's flagship is decked out with a glass front and back), I honestly think HTC will continue to receive high praise.

Once you have held a iPhone, Nexus 4 or HTC One - the S4 feels like a cheap piece of creaking crap)

Absolutely agree,

I could never go back to plastic after owning a N4 and a HTC One.

I owned the iPhone 5 for eight months before I purchased the HTC One. No way could I go back to the 5,it seems soooo dated now.

The biggest problem for me with the S4 is that it isn't any better built, or uses obviously better quality chassis than even their lower end devices. In fact, I'm pretty sure the Galaxy Ace actually feels more solid than the S4 ....

Is it possible to add a small portable keyboard to the HTC One? I have only ever used phones with buttons so an add on keyboard would be a great accessory.

Yep bluetooth keyboards galore on Amazon (and other places).

I have both. Still prefer the 5.

I am on a contract so cannot change my current phone until January 2014. By the sound of your comments, the HTC One sounds a great phone, so might consider this as a first option when I upgrade next year.

By then prices should have dropped a bit, so will be looking for a great deal.

By that time HTC will be close to announcing the HTC one's successor.

I have a 4S and an 808, I much prefer the 808.

What does this prove? Nothing, other than everyone finds different things appealing, what works best for one is not necessarily the case for others

Just like the older HTC ONE S, a main reason for praise is the fact that it is not a Samsung, despite the One having the same glaring omissions of its predecessor.

I wish Apple would hurry up with their plastic iPhone so the 'remarkable reception' quality gets back to moving tech forwards. Forward beyond that current priority of 'holding it'.

Not a clue what you are trying to say there, but I assume that because it's you its a jibe at Apple

'Most praised phone ever' does sum it up though.

A very decent phone as long as you do not mind the limitations. In the metal clad realm the PadFone Infinity sounds far better, quite like the Transformer Prime looks the most usable tablet.

Err... iPhone 5 yeah? It has two antenna's which are covered by a thin bit of glass (usually thinner than the plastic in plastic backed phones). They are separate, one at the top and one at the bottom, it chooses which is best during the call. If you are going to bash please check up on the latest phone specs before you do.. it's no iPhone 4.

Yep, and it still got slated for its very bad call quality in that Gadget show showdown.

Even having two metal encased antennas makes for quite varied reception.

What has that got to do with the price of fish. We weren't talking about either of those phones. I was responding to a post that specifically mentioned both the HTC One and the iPhone 5, and how the iP5 seems so dated.

Well, we all know what we think of the Gadget Show, surprised you quote it as a source. All I know is that I have never had problems with call quality and probably slightly prefer it in that area to my HTC One.

A Royal We ?

Did it go downhill when it became more balanced?

HTC have also just confirmed that the One S (a 15 month old phone) will not be updated past 4.1.

Put a dent in their customer satisfaction level.

They is likely a modded later version available sometime later..

The dents are likely to be in the scratchy aluminium.

They also never really supported the One V. No updates were ever released. Samsung updated the Ace 2 among other low end phones. Why couldn't HTC? They carry on repeating the same old mistakes
