No.

The current (amps) will not vary greatly. What will vary is the voltage you get out of the end of the lead.

An extreme example but you could stuff 5V @ 2A into one end of the lead and get 4V @ 2A out of the far end.

that is correct. but the power ie 10W v 8W in your example will be lower and that is ultimately what we're interested in and what charges the device.

it's lazy really to describe the output of these charges in Amps when we're really interested in watts. but it happens because we know they are all 5V at source.

they say they are 2a, but in fact they are not.

belkin has bit on their website telling you what to look for.”

so they are real chargers but they are badged as a brand that is fake.

the whole sale price of an unbranded two amp charger in china is around $0.50 and they are entirely real.

If something is real then its not fake. Its when something is fake but sold as real. Some items its hard to tell the difference if your joe public like myself.

I was quite surprised when I was looking at a charger for my remote control car batteries that there are fake ones about as well (one of the main differences is the hologram sticker on the bottom).

They seem to forge anything nowadays.

What about buying through a reputable seller on Taobao? I'm guessing that would be fairly cheap, even accounting for shipping from China?
