Francesca is the Natasha Scribbins/Helene of this series

Basically, she is a bit miserable and has done very little that is particularly noteworthy throughout the whole series. She is very lucky to have survived this far!

I am inclined to agree that she's similar to Helene, but I'm pretty sure Natasha proved herself as a decent candidate?

I think Francesca has more of a likeability factor than Helene, but I admit I was a bit surprised when Sugar had said she'd done well in the process so far. If she has, we certainly haven't seen much of it.

Natasha was decent on the creative tasks and not a whole lot else, but I found her amusing nonetheless.

I think Lord Sugar saying that she's been good up until now in the BR on the task last week makes me think perhaps there's a lot more to her than the edit has shown us. I also think of all the candidiates left, Francesca seems the nicest of them all as a person so I'd be disinclined to agree with the Helene comparison, and although she's had her moments, she's yet to come close to the hilarity of Natasha Scribbins (who to me seemed like a female James McQuillan in terms of comedy value/competence).

Hell no.

Natasha was a complete bell end, well a female version.

Franny has been quite good so far but is out of her depth now. I expect her to be gone in the next 2 weeks.

Realistically though how should any female play this?

It shocks me that in 2013 we are still gender generalising and I am just as guilty of this as everybody else.

Too much make-up............not enough make-up......heels too high...........far too aggressive........far too simpering........too vocal.....too girly...too image conscious........too predatory.

The list goes on and on yet we routinely do not take males to task for such matters.

As I said earlier.............I am female and successful in my field but I am ashamed that even I can fall into these stereo-typing pitfalls.

I can kind of see what the OP means with Helene, though I think Francesca is much nicer. Don't see it with Natasha at all though.

WHAT? How is she anything like Helene? Helene was so capable. Why is she so underestimated here?

Look people need to stop confusing likability factor with a realistic business prospect...Helene was really good. She's a Stella-esque candidate...just brilliant.

I'm shocked that all of you thought Natasha was decent as a candidate!??? Was I watching the same series as you??

Another post on here I wholeheartedly agree with.

Whilst I do agree that (as another thread commented on) this is a reality show ultimately this is the one program that at least alludes to being all about business acumen.

Looks, how 'fit' a candidate is (or not as the case may be), what cosmetic work they've had done, or what gender they are should play a minimal part in this process. It should be on ability, nothing else.

Unfortunately if some of the posts on this forum and indeed comments I hear on The Apprentice in my own workplace are to be believed, gender, looks and how much fun they would be over a pint in a pub, do still play a part.

Anyway, I digress. Back to the topic, I think Francesca comes across as a nice enough person (See I am guilty of it too) but from an ability standpoint, she's the weakest link now by some distance.

I actually do see the comparison from the OP re Francesca, Natasha and Helene based on this, whilst not necessarily agreeing with the miserable bit. Well not fully anyway!

Why thank you.

All feedback is appreciated.

I wouldn't give 250K to a female who has had cosmetic "work" done anymore than i would a tattooed male. Not sure what the "ism" is for this though, i see it as common sense.

I'd trust my tattooed heavy metal music loving stepdad with 250k more than I would my well-dressed, well-spoken dad... One of them is reliable, sensible, dependable & honest, and its not the one with the better appearance.

Actually, Heavy Metal Fans and Sailors, probably get exempted from my tattoo prejudice as well as cosmetic work on teeth.

Hang on, no one is saying she's no good because of how she looks. Save your attack for when someone does.

Nor is it a gender thing as people also attack male contestants for their appearance and behaviour.

You're kidding right? You have read some of the other threads on the Apprentice forum?

I've seen numerous comments on Leah's lips or Luisa's looks. Many seem to be negative, and OTT in my opinion. This has nothing to do with their business ability.

It seems that the female contestants are under far more scrutiny esp on DS than their male counterparts judging by the respective number of posts.

I'm still not 100% sure why.

I love Franny she's been a lot more optimistic and entertaining than dull Helene though

I liked Helene too. I wouldn't say she was brilliant, but she's better than she gets credit for. I think the crucial task was the mall photos one. She had Lucinda on her team, and Lucinda had a lot of fans (partly through being Jennifer's victim), but in my view Lucinda was pretty useless and Helene was right to see her that way. (And my view of Lucinda was largely confirmed by the final You're Fired.) The other team was led Simon, another popular character, who unfortunately imploded and Helene didn't get much credit for winning.

I'm not currently seeing much good about Francesca. I've not forgotten her getting the numbers so very wrong, so many times, in the beer task, and nothing else she's done has stood out.

I think that's a very good point. Helene was a bit overly aggressive and impatient, but I didn't think Lucinda was particularly helpful. Yes I appreciate that she might not have been very good at using computers and doing all that stuff, but it's not exactly difficult to learn and once you know how it's decidedly easy. I think Helene made a good point that she wasn't great at cooking, but in the previous task she'd been asked to cook and she tried her best to do it. It may have been a bit different if it was completely impossible for Lucinda to do, but I don't see that it was. She might not have been used to it, but it's not hard to learn.

Francesca is nothing like either of them and Natasha and Helene are nothing like one another either!

I think Francesca is more competent than her 'edit' sometimes suggests, which doesn't mean she is immune from errors. She is a much more likeable personality than Natasha or Helene.

Natasha hung on by the end of her teeth and showed some good ideas. Helene was a miserable and talentless individual that I loathed to my last bone.

I was talking about this thread mainly. Maybe DiamondDoll was reacting to the whole forum but it seemed a bit OTT for this thread.

I think the male contestants mainly get "phwoarr" type comments rather than bitchy negative ones, but it's still judgement based on looks.

I know.

And Natasha wasn't miserable at all in my opinion.
