^^not really.

Hola is totally different to DNS services, especially for those who want to watch television on a television. Sure, if someone prefers to watch a major release film on their tiny laptop or PC screens it maybe fine. But if you want a full sofa-friendly environment where you watch on your big-screen TV, then Hola just doesn't cut it.

Besides, as already mentioned, the price of a beer per month is hardly expensive to give so much more than what Hola offers.

Depends as i have my pc connected to my tv via HDMI also most pcs and laptops have a HDMI connection so it's easy to connect to your tv , but i've heard Hola is very slow anyway.
I do agree with you however a service that costs a couple of pounds a month gives a lot more than things like hola.

Sorry to resurrect an old(ish) thread!!

Could someone explain to me how unblock us works and what I could watch if I had it?

Now that channel 5 has cancelled once upon a time, I saw someone mention that if you had unblock us you could watch it at us pace.

Thanks

It basically spoofs where you actually are located. So services like Netflix think you're in the USA, Sweden or whatever else you want to be so it delivers the local version of Netflix for wherever it thinks you are.

For a full list of services you can use with it take a look at the website www.unblock-us.com

If you use unblock(or other companies) you would log in to unblock-us with your registered email address, you could then alter your online country address(supplied by unblock) from drop down box, 11 countries to choose from.

Once upon a time is an Abc programme.
unblock log in - http://www.unblock-us.com/
Choose USA from drop box(netflix region picker)and update to save.
Visit Abc site - http://abc.go.com/shows/once-upon-a-time
Watch episodes.
Most Tv companies have content online to watch(cannot skip adverts)but free apart from our broadband/unblock costs.

I use http://www.hulu.com/tv/networks , then go to favourites and browse for programmes of interest to me, http://www.hulu.com/companies/nation...raphic-channel.

I registered for free content on hulu, which gives access to alot of content, they also have a paid subscription.

Using unblock or others gives access other countries tv programmes, i use it for netflix content and for USA/CANADA online tv content, well worth £3 for hassle free use,

The region picker is only for Netflix, you don't need to use it to view the likes of abc.com
Also if your watching via a desktop browser unblock-us also removes the ads too.

Adverts are part of Hulu's service, and can't be blocked.

For anyone wanting to save a huge £3 a month just use www.tunlr.net, personally speaking I have tried it and it's ok but randomly vudu and hulu refuse to work.

Better off paying for a reliable dns proxy like unblockus or unotelly.

There are plenty of smart dns out there right now. They are not created equal, some wont' work with your isp and some will. Most of them have free trial. You can try before subscribing. For me I'm with trickbyte for a while without problem at all. Support is great too. It's only $2.99/month. You can save money and get the get the great quality.
