I'm glad they didn't play it because I was finding it sad enough seeing Tanya leave the square knowing she's not coming back.

I'm kinda glad they didn't use one because I would have cried even more...

I think she deserved a Julia;s theme, that was the only negative i can say about tonight episode, i would love to know how they decide who gets a julias theme and who doesnt but in my opinion Tanya was a big enough character to warrant it.

I think it's a bit strange too, Amira got one when she left in 2010....

It was her idea to leave.

I thought Julias theme was only used for when the Duff Duff wouldn't be appropriate? Not for departures.

This is true, in fact the first time it was used for an exit was Cindy Beale's 1996 exit.

However, because it has been used a lot for exits recently, it has become a common misconception that JT is an exit theme.

It's really used to mark the end of a story. TBH it could have been used as last night as Tanya's exit marked the start of a new era for the Brannings- unless they are saving it for Jack's exit (which will bring a new era)

Yes I think the door has been left open for her.

She probably didn't get it because Zainab's exit was exactly the same.

I was surprised Ashdown didn't use Peggy's theme though like he did for Ronnie's exit.

Well, I am enjoying watching fans being pissed off about something as inconsequential as this.

It's a soap.

It's a character in a soap.

It's a storyline.

It's a piece of music (in fact, a piece of "mood" music, not exit music)

There's no "character entitlement",

They should have done it because I wanted them too.

Do you know how important I am??

I think it's disgusting that she didn't get Julia's theme played! The likes of Zoe Slater got it and not Tanya?... Oh well, I think it speaks volumes and just goes to show that the producers obviously couldn't bare to see her leave and dug their heels in at the end - nasty.

Maybe Jo herself didn't want it? would of been nice, but it's done now.

To be frank, the episode could've done with Julia's Theme because, for me, there was no emotion generated from the writing. I admit I detest the Brannings but I didn't much care for Peggy either and was saddened by her final scenes. Not this time. I suppose the writers did the decent thing and admitted the theme would've been contrived with Tanya's exit. Let's face it, she won't be gone long.

I'm sorry but if Pauline Fowler didn't get anything, Tanya shouldn't, and neither should have Zainab, Ricky or Peggy!

Probably so many more... Angie Watts didnt”

It was 7 years ago but the character had been in for over 20 years and was an original cast member. She really 'deserved' it much more than someone that has been in for 7 years and had several departures during that time. I understand that Tanya fans will be upset, but as far as a lot of us are concerned, if someone like Pauline didn't get it, then no-one should.

I think the whole concept of it is very over rated anyway.

That is very true, it is a common misconception that it is some kind of 'honour' given to characters, particularly upon their exit. It is just supposed to be used when the duff duffs would be considered too harsh an ending. That said, some of the episodes they have given it to do seem quite odd.
