It is about 10pm before it is dark in Manchester in June or even later.

It was pitch black when she went.

How stupid, stupid, stupid for anyone, male or female, to go walking round a park alone after nightfall.

Or perhaps deep down Deidre wants to be attacked and molested for some excitement now her husband has to stay in the attic and not be mentioned till January.

Cam Ken not even be mentioned? How on earth are they going to explain his disappearance for the next 6 months at least?

Are you serious? Do people with dogs just not walk their dogs at night because they might get molested? Lol Ridiculous.

The two lads on the bikes looked like proper violent thugs to me. I was quite scared. But not as scared when that Kane lad was on Eastenders.

It made me laugh when she was back at the house with Roy and talking about meeting all kinds of weirdos considering what is going on with Bill Roache.

Yeah but usually people dont walk their dogs in the pitch black. Although it is a soap so anything is possible!

I assumed it was refilmed as originally Ken was supposed to be in that scene not Deidre.

I (and my wife and daughter) are happy to walk our dog anytime anywhere, mind you, he is a very large German Shepherd . Unlike Eccles who's unlikely to savage a potential attacker !!!!!!

His absence is very noticeable from Deirdre's scenes; Kevin's has been easier to explain.

They could mention him being with his recently-discovered and quickly-forgotten son Lawrence.

Yeah im sure that would of been Ken, saying that Dreary did make me laugh when she started drinking the brandy and talking about working at the Medical Centre.

Yes with Kevin and Sally now divorced and Kevin a single man his absence isn't really noticeable. The explanation he's gone to stay with his sick father works fine especially as Bill was suffering from poor health in his most recent stint. Ken on the other hand is a much more prominent character with the Barlow's as one of the most notable families. What with him being the friend, husband, father and grandfather of people onscreen now involved in storylines his absence is very noticeable. I think a proper explanation should be given for his absence rather than just "Ken's at the library, Ken's out walking the dog" etc. Maybe his grandson Adam has been in a car accident and needs care, or long lost son Lawrence has invited Ken abroad with him to get to know him. Anything would be better than nothing really.
