Karl - sooner or later, all Corrie villains must (quite rightly) get their comeuppance. Sooner or later another villain will come along to replace him, just as all soaps bring on new soap villains to replace departing ones.

Dr Carter - I don't know why he was never developed as a character, but for whatever reason, he wasn't and was so invisible that few will miss him now.

I'm very happy with Corrie at the moment. I absolutely love Demon David and can't wait to see how far he will go and how many lives he will damage.

I love Roy, Hayles and Sylvia and (much as I hate the idea), Hayley's cancer sl will undoubtedly be gripping television.

Whilst I can't wait to be rid of TinyFireman, I think this is a great way to not only get rid of him, (which can only massively benefit Eileen's character), but it is also going to cause huge divisions within the Street. Again, hugely entertaining for me. ”

I can see the new villain being Fayes dad Tim....

Corrie has way too many untouchables who look set to remain until the actor dies. This needs to change. Characters shouldn't necessarily still be there just because they've been around for a long time e.g. Gail, Rita, Sean, Sally, Deirdre.

They need to bring back Toyah. Would add a different dimension to Leanne.

Apart from Sean (why is he still there???) these characters are the backbone of the Street and it wouldn't be the same without them.

They've all been involved in massive stories over the years and have made a major contribution to the soap, plus they're all very good actors.

I wouldn't say they were 'untouchable' but they certainly all deserve to remain even though there's not much going on with them at the moment (apart from Gail with the Kyle/David/Nick storyline) but I'm sure they'll show their worth (again) in the near future.

Not 'untouchables', just great long term characters who have all been brilliant over the years, and still are. (Sean being the obvious exception of course).

It's the long-term characters that give Corrie its heart and soul, and I would hate to see any of them go, (again apart from the obvious).

Agreed. I'm not sure what benefit those who advocate wholesale massacre of characters think would ensue. You'd end up introducing lots of new characters who take a long time to bed in, and who might not work. I love the fact that Corrie has these characters, even if they are just there in the background.

I'm not even in the 'Get rid of Sean' camp, since I think he is tolerable as a character on the sidelines. I just don't want him having to handle bigger storylines.

The quicker Tina goes the better, she was far to over used for far too long. I have to agree with earlier comments about Roy not working without Hayley, i too think the same unless in time they pair him up with someone even just on friendly terms,Mary would be a good fit.

People always give him so much attention on here. Even when someone goes on about how much they hate him, it's still giving him too much attention in my eyes. Is he really that important? I also don't want him to have a big story line but I agree, he is tolerable on the sidelines, in the background.
