How do we all feel about Roy moving on from Hayley and finding a new wife someday?

Or will he remain loyal to Hayley until his own end?

I think it would have to be someone very special for Roy to be interested in someone else again after Hayley

I`m guessing it will be Mary.
The thought of Roy without Haley upsets me, and no one could ever be good enough in my eyes to be Mrs Cropper #2. I`d prefer it if Roy never married again

The natural choice is Mary

but it could be a new character -- or maybe Deirdre (if ken doesnt come back)

I hope it's not Mary, it's at too easy. Isn't there a 30 year gap? Can't see Sylvia being happy about that! I do think they'll leave it a good while before they find him someone new - sounds like he'll be busy with his new family anyway to think of a new woman. Poor Roy - I can see this bing heartbreaking tbh - possibly up there to rival Alma's death?

Why would anyone want Royston to remarry?

The murderer was Royston's first wife.

Well, considering the actor could quite happily be in the show for the next 20 years I don't see why it's unrealistic to expect not her romance.

Why are so many people in favour of a Roy/Mary relationship? It all seems too "easy" for me - like lumping together two oddballs for the sake of it. Roy is loveable and has all the qualities that make him endearing to viewers - whereas Mary, while also eccentric, can come across as a bit of a deranged lunatic. She's not a favourite of mine, and I wish they'd just get rid of her.

Anyway, this discussion all feels a bit morbid - Hayley's not even gone yet!

I couldn't see Royston learning to love and trust somebody new for many years, if ever.

For the moment, he has Sylvia to see him through, and I'm rather hoping they might introduce his half siblings at some point.

That would be a brilliant idea for the future, rather than unrealistically marrying him off.

I'm really hoping that Stephanie Cole stays with the Street a while longer than she originally intended - after all, Roy can't lose Sylvia just as he's lost Hayley, surely??

Gawd, I hope not! That would finish Roy off if she left as well.

I didn't know there was a possibilitity of her leaving though. Have you heard something?

No, I don't think Roy will ever marry again, nor should he. Hayley is one in a million, he won't want to simply 'replace' her like you would a dog (I can hear Roy saying this).

She said in an interview last year or so that she has no intentions of staying forever.

Royston did not have any romance, as far as I remember, before Hayley arrived in his life.

I wonder if Roy and Hayley have separate beds. I can imagine Roy wouldn't have envisioned anything else when they moved in together, if they do share a bed that will be all down to Hayley. But maybe separate beds is why she never noticed his sleepwalking.

I love that this hasn't even needed to be addressed.

You know I've been wondering this. I can't really imagine them in the throws of passion.

I don't think they have seperate beds. They have a stable and loving marriage.

I think it's far to soon for viewers to even consider Roy with another woman.

If and when it does happen I think it will have to be years down the line.

Putting Roy and Mary together would just be weird, full stop. The Dreary idea isn't too bad, though, at least if Ken doesn't come back.

It doesn't mean they don't, just that they choose not to sleep together. Sharing a bed does not equal a happy marriage.
