SR3 was free on PS+ ages ago and Dust... Is that any good? I know it's old.

it matters for me because i've already had the game for years and finished it multiple times being given it again is a major let down which is compounded when it happens the same month that PS+ is giving us (not only more, yep that is still a plus point but also...) Puppeteer and Payday 2 two relatively new games

When are we going to see games for Games for Gold go all out and give us a decent game that is 6-8 months old, its happened plenty on PS so its obviously not a problem with Publishers/Devs

I can understand people comparing the two. I have a sub to both XBL and PS+ and + is miles better with the games being offered. Yeah I know + is a rental service but as + is needed to game online with a PS4, it's a must have to get the best from the console and that includes the excellent games being offered. PS+ subscribers are getting 'Driveclub', which is a brand new game. MS will need to up the ante to compete with PS+. Old games are just not gonna cut it for most people.

I wasn't comparing anything, just merely stating that I already have S3 from another service. I don't want an argument out of what I said .

I meant the GFG being offered are poor. most XBL subscribers either have owned or do already own the games.

Yeah, it is poor in comparison but it's a different service. I would like MS to offer games (whatever age) that haven't appeared on PS+. I guess we've become entitled, lol.

If MS offered newer games then would GFG need to change to a 'rental' service ?. Y can't MS offer newer games to GFG subscribers now, what's stopping them ?. Or is it a case of 'Yeah we're going to offer better/newer games' but only for those with Xbox one.

Hopefully all will become clear at E3.

Excellent. I don't own Charlie Murder and Street Fighter 4. I hear MS are also scraping the need for Gold to use Netflix etc. That, and the Kinect-less Xbox One... Are they finally coming good?

Seems more noise is being made about a Kinect less console than this announcement which is much bigger for X1 owners.

Both great games, shame I already own both

Seems to have happened.

"Members will have subscription-based access ....."

Oh is stated more explicitly in the small print:

"** Free Games Offer: For paid Gold members only. On Xbox One, active Gold membership required to play free games you’ve downloaded. Must download titles during designated window. Kinect and/or hard drive required for some games."

Sort of buried in the announcement, but looks like games won't be free forever as now. Basically as PSN+ operates.

Edit added quote.

If Microsoft are going to stick with releasing two games with gold per month for the X1 then Sony will probably have to match them with the PS4.

I have Dark Souls and Spartan Assault.
Not heard of Charlie Murder and Max:CotB didn't seem my kind of game. But, as with PS+ I'll download anyway and have a look.

Don't think it'll be 2 a month all the time. Probably just to promote at the start.

• Exclusive Discounts. Deals with Gold will also launch for Xbox One in June, delivering discounts for great games each month, with significant savings for Xbox Live Gold members. The first titles offered in June will include “Forza Motorsport 5,” “Ryse: Son of Rome,” and a few other surprises. This program will continue to be available for Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360. And new on Xbox One, we will launch a virtual VIP room exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members where we will feature free games, monthly deals, and other great benefits.

Suppose to be offering forza and ryse at 50%-75% off next month as well for gold users. If ryse is 75% off then I might buy it, but if I wait then it might become free further down the line.
