Oh good. Thief for free. AGAIN.

Didn't bother to play it the first 2 times it's been given away, so I doubt I'll be bothered to play it now.

Great month for me. I don't have any of them. Looking forward to Thief and Sacred 3 especially. Don't know much about Van Helsing buy will certainly give it a go.
Being able to play the 360 games on the X1 is a great addition to the service.

Will give Thief a go as the original was a classic, although heard this one was really bad.

Only played a little bit of it. Not terrible. Definitely playable.

Not for me this month.
I'm pretty sure Operation Flashpoint is another one in my 'to do' pile.

If you need to buy the game on the xbox Web site or 360 and it will then appear on your waiting to install list on the console.

How do I get free games without using the console?

I went to http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/games...ld?xr=shellnav and choose Dungeon Siege III but it want's to charge me £14.99 even though it says free.

I have Xbox Live Gold up until 2017 BTW as I purchased a prepaid plan.

Played an hour or so of the Van Helsing game last night - in my opinion, it's probably one of the best free games to be offered on Xbox One or PS4 in quite a while.

It's a Diablo style game, but in a Van Helsing setting (i.e. Werewolves/Vampires etc). You visit towns and pick up quests like escort someone from A to B, kill this or that, usual stuff. The character upgrade system seems pretty comprehensive, you can customise your character to be ranged (guns), melee or spellcraft, or a bit of everything if you want. Obviously I haven't played loads of it yet but it's definitely something I'll be playing more of.

There's even the little loot goblin guys that run around in places, just like Diablo 3!

I've been playing Van Helsing today and it's not bad at all actually. I don't usually go for this type of thing but I've enjoyed what I've played so far, and there seems to be a lot of depth to the customisation and character development if you want to invest the time. Certainly worth checking out if you've got an XB1 and a Gold sub.

You can do it from the XB1 dashboard but it's a bit long winded.

Go to Store. Select Browse All Games, then select subscriptions from the top of the screen. After that select See All and you should see a Double Your Free Games banner. Select that and you'll be taken to the website store, then click on the Download From Xbox Store icon under the game you want.

Don't have my XB1 yet, Zavvi are taking forever to send it!

I contacted Xbox support and they fixed it though, no idea what she did.

Something just occurred to me.... They make a big deal about being able to play the 360 games on Xbox One, but wasn't the Xbox One version of Castlestorm already given away on GWG? Makes it difficult for longer term subscribers to get excited about getting an inferior 360 version.

Ok so this weeks deals with gold are quite good.

Battlefield 4 + hardline double pack £25.
Star wars £36.84
SW deluxe £43.54
SW ultimate £78.74

I just bought a years EA access last week, will wait for SW to be added to the vault. Gutted if I had bought SW at launch though.

They did the exact thing with WWE 2K16 just after launch. Offered a HUGE discount on it like 2 weeks after launch after I paid full price for the deluxe edition

They are scum when they do that, should be a refund within 30 days if the game is tanking in sales and there is a discount that early. I bet you wont buy another WWE game full price? I had the same with ff13, paid full, 6 weeks later half price. I waited on ff13-2 to reduce, which it did, didn't bother with 3.

Also on deals of week is the dragons age dlc, was £12 now £7.19. Tempted, but £21 for the 3 dlc packs. I suppose it is better than £36.Its not showing up in the tab for me.

The Dragon Age and BF4 deals also require EA Access.

Noticed that Max & The Curse Of The Brotherhood has suddenly turned up unannounced as a free Gold game. I've played it but if you haven't you should snap it up while it's on there, it's a decent little game.
