Great news for gold members. Looks like Microsoft are extending the games with gold promotion beyond the end of the year http://news.xbox.com/2013/10/xbox-360-games-with-gold Quote:
At E3 2013, we launched Games with Gold as a limited-time program to thank our Xbox Live Gold members. Within that short period of time, we’ve seen an overwhelming response, with more than 120 million hours played with Games with Gold titles. Today, as a part of the “Week of Xbox Live,” we’re excited to announce that we are making Games with Gold an ongoing benefit for Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360.
Whether they are blockbuster AAA or popular arcade titles, Games with Gold continues to offer a diverse mix of games with two free Xbox 360 titles a month – yours to keep and at no additional cost. According to recent surveys, 97 percent of participating members have given their stamp of approval for Games with Gold, and we’re excited to continue bringing you great games every month as part of our ongoing commitment to providing great value on Xbox 360. Don’t forget to download “Halo 3,” called “nothing short of epic” by IGN.com and available Oct. 16-31. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire and Major Nelson’s blog for new Games with Gold titles announced each month. |

Gutted selling my 360 as loved the majority of the free games. Would keep it but Mrs dazzy71 now has a 1 console policy in the house.
After a more then shaky PR start announcing X1 MS are now pulling out all the stops for the X1 and with this they are highlighting they are not forgetting the 360 owners. |

Yup, enjoying all this good news.
Hopefully we get more benefits as Xbox one owners as well. Even a free Arcade game a month would be a great bonus. |

Blimey, I had my suspicions this would happen, in a rather shocking turn of events MS have really been doing a great job recently with PR. LMAO
First dedicated serves confirmed for all games on X1 the other day, some great footage of the X1 UI and Ryse, Albert Penello stating the all games that are on display during the X1 tour/store shut-ins are outdated E3 versions and that the final games look much better and now this. Not bad at all. |

![]() ![]() Still PS4 for me, but at the same time I want a strong MS to come out and push Sony. Competition is good. |

Not bad at all. If i'm being honest if the last 2 weeks was the first we where hearing about the next gen consoles, i might of considered an X1 first Dedicated servers Vs a Bundles having games delayed Exclusives hitting at launch VS exclusives getting delayed I'm now much more interested in an X1 and the first price drop / incredibly valued bundles after about 6 months might push me towards taking the plunge |

There's something very wrong with you sadist.
![]() I will get an X1 at some point, I need Quantum Break, it's just not worth the launch price imo. Should be a cracking bit of kit though

It is expensive I agree. I understand anyway. Playstation offers its own experience and that's the best way for everyone really. I will also pick up a PS4 later on down the line and it will be exciting to have a new experience like that.
![]() Don't know why people would restrict themselves personally, the companies don't care, so why be overly loyal, only that person loses out IMO. |

Yeah, for me Sony exclusives win hence why I'm getting the PS4 first, but next year an X1 will be sat there with Forza

![]() Considering how bad of an image MS had at E3 I think it's clear things are changing a little and this past weeks news has undoubtedly helped. I wonder (and hope) it's due to the change in management, maybe we'll see a different side to Microsoft? It needs to happen if I'm honest, if they have any hope of surviving this industry. It's interesting to note your change of perspective on the console.

Just doing GFG for 6 months was pretty cynical in my opinion. I'm glad that MS has extended this initiative, I just hope that it gets the titles it deserves and isn't just some cheap PR stunt.
Xbox Live is finally worth the money. I always thought £40 a year for matchmaking was a bit of a joke. |
