lovefilm changing to amazon sign in
As some of you may know lovefilm is changing the sign in system to link with Amazon. I sent them a email saying I am not happy with this as i want to keep my sign in separate from Amazon. what they sent back confused the hell out of me.
Thank you for your recent e-mail with regards to your LOVEFiLM account. I can confirm to you that the notification sent to you advises you to switch your LOVEFiLM account to amazon account which is required to store your current details to Amazon secured database. This is because LOVEFiLM is now an Amazon company, and we’re streamlining our systems and services. You’ll need to switch details to continue using LOVEFiLM – it means you’ll have one less password to remember, of course, and one less set of account details to manage. It’s very quick and easy, and it will all happen on a secure website server, so your personal data will remain completely safe. You should NEVER send any log-in details via email, of course (and we will never ask you to). Your package and payments will remain the same; and your Rental list, Watchlist, and your viewing history will all still be available after you’ve switched your account, just as before. However, if you do not wish to link your Lovefilm account to Amazon, you can continue using your Lovefilm login details as normal in order to login to your account. However, we highly recommend you to switch your lovefilm account to Amazon. Should you have any more questions. Please do not hesitate to contact us. In one sentence they are saying that I have to change to carry on using Lovefilm and in another they are saying I don't have to. I tried to make another Amazon account so i can link it to, but that did not work as it needed another email address, which is not too much of a problem as I can just add another prefix to my domain, but i should not have to do that. i am considering getting rid of lovefilm anyway, so maybe this is the time to do it. |

If I have to I'm simply going to set up a new amazon account using the exact same information as my Lovefilm account.
Luckily I have them on two different emails...although I nearly did transfer the Amazon one on to the Lovefilm e-mail a while ago to make things easier...glad I didn't. |

I don't want to link as I share my list with a friend and I don't want her nosing around my amazon, I doubt she will, but you never know.

Well I'm holding onto the last minute and have no intention of merging my Lovefilm account into my Amazon one.
Anyone else doing likewise? |

It's generally a bad idea to give customers a reason to quit your service.
There's nothing more annoying than being bossed around by a company you're giving money to, especially when the change is entirely to the benefit of the company. |

This is the only reason they are doing this. At the moment the only emails I get from Lovefilm is, we have received your disks and your next rental is on it's way. Ok, i am getting the reminders to change my account over to amazon. |

It seems like lovefilm is trying to bribe people into changing their accounts to Amazon.
Win fantastic prizes when you switch today We would like you to join all our new customers by using your Amazon login to access LOVEFiLM. Switching is easy. Switch today and you will get a chance to win one of our fantastic prizes. Good luck. Good luck to them on getting me to change, that is not going to happen. |

My LoveFilm account is a family one. Why would I want it linked to my personal Amazon account with a credit card?
Having one less password to remember is hardly a benefit when compared to your credit card ![]() Nor do I want to create another Amazon account with yet another passowrd

I was going to put that Amazon seems to have stopped asking us to change, but i logged into my Lovefilm account a moment ago and got the same Win fantastic prizes
when you switch today message, I did not get it yesterday. Still at least they are not sticking a message on ever single page I go to now. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks, we will get back to some normality and and Amazon will realise that some of us don't want to merge our lovefilm account with our Amazon or want to open another Amazon Account |

I never sign out of the likes of Netflix, Lovefilm, Amazon so I've not noticed any changes. No point in signing out at home is there.

Anyway, my cookies are deleted on exit of the browser, so I have to sign in again. You will have no doubt had a email about the change, I did, anyway, I doubt you would care anyway, since you not bothered about tying up accounts or security. Are you not suppose to be in another country in the sun? Maybe you just like us to think you are, because I am pretty sure if I was, i would certainly not be wasting time on here. |

My internet connection has improved via cable to router, the wireless is still crap though so may need a new router, getting a little over 6mb/s so no need for a satellite system Thing is noise, I'm not on holiday here, just living here for a few weeks, home from home so I just do what I'd do at home.Almost time for a siesta, then off to play backgammon before dinner. |

I certainly did mean prizes. No idea how that one slipped through the net.
As i said, if they are that bothered, then why not make the account a amazon one anyway. i suppose they are giving people the chance to combine their accounts. At some point I can see Lovefilm forcing this through. But no way am i going to link it with the Amazon accounts Can you imagine it, we see you watched such a such on Lovefilm, so we give you this offer on Amazon as we thought it would be something you would enjoy. It is all about advertising |

I have no intention of switching sign-in despite their offer of prizes - may be a year's free subscription may make me change my mind
(but I doubt it).Don't know if they've had a change of heart but the nag-screen to switch when connecting via my Sony Bluray player has now disappeared. |
