i asked this in another thread but fear it may get lost or overlooked so here is its own thread . if anybody did answer me there just copy and paste here .

lets say for instance the "big 3" soaps ( eastenders , corrie , emmerdale) were to come to an end , how would you expect those last episodes of each to be played out ?

discuss ..

if Hollyoaks ever ended, i would like a zombie outbreak to happen and all the cast be killed off.
The outbreak could last a few weeks with the cast getting picked off one by one. I'd love to see frankie as a glamorous zombie

To go down the safe route

Eastenders ends when someone decides to buy all of albert square and turn it into a huge shopping mall (or something else). But before they do, we see a wedding, a death, a punch up, a birth and suprise return or two.

I guess a big disaster would be the way to go, not like it is a seasonal drama where the pay off is a certain couple getting together or something. Perhaps with Corrie the cobbles could be tarmac'd over or Hillman comes back from the dead and kills everyone.

I think like ER did - where some stories had been previously wrapped up but generally 'life goes on' carrying on as if a normal day

A massive explosion which kills everybody.
A mass murderer who's killing the whole village/street/square in a few minutes.
A plane crash that kills everybody and destroys everything.

Or like they did it in Little House on the Prairie - they find out that the whole village ground belongs to a rich man and he makes them an offer 'You all have to work for me or go and live somewhere else.' They blew up every single building, ONE-by-ONE. And then wandered off. It was so good and such a fitting ending.

EastEnders: Phil sells the Vic to a property developer and the final episode sees it torn down whilst Ian and Sharon sit on Arthur's bench reminiscing the past.

For EE- I'd like it to be Ian's exit episode, walking off into the sunset with a permanent Mrs Beale (whenever that may be ). Seeing as he appeared in one of the show's first scenes, it would be fitting if he were to appear at the end

I would end EE like it first started...a murder with Sharon being the victim.

We dont see the murder take place but there is a knock on the door and Sharon opens it and does one of her best shocked startled faces and we then later we see Sharon's dead body.

The final ever scene would be Ian,Phil and a returned Grant knocking for Sharon and Grant smashing down the door and Ian muttering 'cor stinks in ere' as they walk in...doof doof doof

I think I've posted this somewhere before, but I think a fitting end for EastEnders would be Martin Fowler, dying alone in some flat somewhere. That ties right back to the first scenes of the first episode where Reg Cox died and Pauline discovered she was pregnant.

dazza89's idea with Sharon would work as well.

I think Eastenders kind of has to finish on a big Doof-doof cliffhanger ending.
