He was making sure I couldn't steal any of his cool breeze!

Right click on my fb pic, copy image url.

Write text here, highlight.

Click the link icon (globe above text box) to get pop up.

Delete the http bit that's already in the pop up.

Right click and paste image url.

There's probably an easier way to do it, but that's my method.

love the big feet! Archie's got feet like that.

He loves the tree house (which he accesses via the slide!) and often stops the kids playing on it, by lying across the top, blocking access!

Lol! Brilliant!

Same method JJ, whatever site you host your pics on. Alternatively just C&P the link to your album on photobucket or wherever.

One of our hounds has today (again) bitten through her lead!!

On the way back from a walk my dad dropped in at a neighbours (who are on hols) to bring out the bins.

Rather than try and shift the bin and and both dogs at the same time he draped the leads over a low fence, whilst walking back around the front of the house he was met by Dee with half a lead hanging of her collar. Do you think this is seperation anxiety? She has done it before outside the papershop

Our previous grey had HUGE S.A issues where my dad was concerned.

It could be, but it could also just be the only chance she gets to chew it! What she like when he leaves her at home?

She's generally ok, probably because there is someone else at home. It seems to be when he disappears from her sight that she makes a break for freedom to go and find him.

She's not a massive chewer either, apart from her dew claw nail which is now razor sharp

It could be, but without knowing if she's chewing in distress or just to chew (leads and collars are forbidden fruit to a lot of dogs!) or even if she fearful of being tied up (from a previous experience - presume she's a rescue?)it's diffuse to say.

He could try leaving her somewhere that he can see her but she can't see him, see how she reacts,

Yep, she's an ex-racer. Has had one home already but someone took her back after 14 months claiming she was weeing indoors (excuse I think). The RGT lady also said she thought she had been hit/smacked as she was quite nervous.

Will try what you suggested and watch the reaction.

Thanks bazaar.

So maybe she's been tethered and left too? And doesn't want to lose a good owner so does her best to follow him?

She's not the brightest our Dee but she knows what side her bread is buttered

The other pointy is not a happy girl at the moment, she ran into some wood logs and cut herself. She's been superglued and stapled Back at the vet later on today, hopefully she wont need to be knocked out and stitched. Have all hounds got thin skin or is it greys in particular?

Aww poor thing. Yeah it's a sighthound thing, they tear like paper. My previous lurcher ran into a metal fence and ripped himself over the ribs. I heard him yelp but couldn't see how bad it was because he had a scruffy deerhound type coat. That was a pricey one - I was still researching insurance when it happened. I didn't have a car at that time so it was a 6m taxi tripto the vets, plus waiting, plus return, plus Sunday call out fee on top of the op. The cut was a good 4" so lots of stitches. Healed up well though, hope your pooch does too! Extra TLC and sausage deserved!

Why is it always on a Sunday when these things happen!! Tear like paper is exactly right - good way of putting it.

She's back in the vets today. The tear is in an awkward spot, just slightly further back from where her front leg joins her body, so basically everytime she walks its pulling open. Normal stiches wont do the trick, so the vet is going to put some sort of healing material over the cut then stitch

The quote the vet gave was astronomical but luckily we have insurance, I'm sure it didnt cost this much years ago for vets bills!! I bet you got the insurance sharpish after your lurchers accident!!

Awwww poor thing. Hope she's ok now. The basics at vets stay around the same price year on year,it specialist, new or time consuming procedures to up and up. The vets make some nice money on that hourly rate for ops etc.

Thanks bazaar. The vet said pick her up at 3.30ish - dont think she will be impressed with us!

The vet is also going to do a dental whist she is under, she has terrible teeth!!

Whilst under anaesthetic the vet discovered that the tear has gone into her muscle, and part of it was dying off so he had to remove some of it

She's got a drain in at the mo, hopefully that will come out Thursday. Feel so sorry for her, she looks so uncomfortable.

She's 9 in October. Am sat with her now and she looks so cheesed off!! She is being the perfect patient though, such a sweetie.

Any idea how long it will take to heal? She has dissolveable stitches in the muscle and normal stitches on the outside.

2-3 weeks to heal proper. Our old Grey will be 13 in a few months, couple of years ago he was off the lead and clocked a cat, went after it and promptly ran into a fence. He tore his hind leg open, 25 stitches and 10 teeth removed. It took less than 1 day for him to be looking for his food though! We just soak his food a few hours in advance now. Recently his arthritis in his hips/back legs has been getting bad and we are a bit worried about him, apart from the arthritis he is strong and fit. Real shame. Good luck with your hound.

Aww bless him. Archie nearly garrotted himself on barbed wire yesterday when running back to us! Just missed it thank goodness! The jr x however decided the best route back was through some nice bushes, he emerged covered in burrs. He's long haired so they stuck like glue, took two of us 3 sessions over 4 hours to completely deburr him! Blooming idiot!

Whilst sighthounds are the loveliest, gentle breed they can be a bit dim at times. They definitely have a kind of tunnel vision where they focus only on what they are seeing/chasing, any obstacle is a real danger to them. Got our boy some Tramadol from vet today, in case the arthritis gets any worse, he told us to use them only in extreme case as they are powerful meds. Pretty lucky with vet as 2 of them in the practice have good knowledge of Greyhounds.

Wow that sounds nasty, I bet that sent you into a bit of a panic!!

They always seem to whip out some teeth whilst they are under for something else.

Our hound is healing beautifully, she has been an absolute star and not nibbled her stitches once - they come out on Thursday so hopefully the ordeal will be over.

Hope the tramadol does the trick for your lad.

Not quite sure she is classed as "a pointy" but since she is soooo beautiful lets ignore that fact

Those photos are fab, love the Bet Lynch one. What gorgeous green eyes she has.
