Ho Stars Insesative Twitter Rant
HOLLYOAKS star James Sutton was slammed by
his girlfriend — after moaning at being delayed after a man jumped in front of a train. And Virgin Trains bosses also criticised the actor, who plays John Paul McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, for complaining about the service. Sutton, 30, was forced to apologise for his insensitive Twitter remark after his Liverpool to London train was delayed following the incident at Rugby, Warks. He tweeted: “Various trains to catch. If everyone could refrain from jumping in front of them for the next few hours, that would be great.” But girlfriend Jessica Fox, 30, who plays Nancy Hayton in Hollyoaks, tweeted him: “That’s somebodies child!!” And Virgin’s tweet to him said: “Some sensitivity would be appreciated, delayed or not.” http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/soaps/4990102/Hollyoaks-star-is-blasted-after-train-jump-Twitter-rant.html |

It really is annoying when it happens though, I had to get a taxi from Woking to London once because of it. Cost a small fortune.

As bad as it sounds, I would probably say something similar in the same situation.

I know its deeply sad and horrible thing when people do that no one knows what goes through their mind to make them go to such extreme lengths and he could of put things more tactfully but it one way his right, causes a lot of problems for people using trains also I thought he had broke up with Nancy and was dating someone new.

The problem being is they didn't know what had happened only that there was a death, it could of been somebody working on the line that had been killed.
Also while most of us would of said it we don't have nearly 70,000 followers on twitter and also it wouldn't make the press would it. |

I do wonder why people don't think before they tweet/post, particularly when they're in the public eye?? The ability to self-censor is something everybody should try to cultivate!!!

I had no idea that James was dating Jessica. |

having spent nearly 20 years commuting into London each day it happens horribly often and I know that I have heard people say similar things when delayed on trains, but he should have realised the insensitivity of it and that it would be picked up by so many people. Engage brain before opening mouth (or tweeting fingers) as my father would say.
As inconvenient as it may be to others, suicide is never something to be talked of like that plus as someone else said, it might have been an accident. As Jessica said, think about the victims family or even the poor train driver that hit him and will have that image in his head for the rest of his/her life. A couple of hours delay pales into insignificance really. |

I'm surprised at so many people admitting they would react the same way. I would be horrified. As Jessica said, that is someone's child. Poor us at being inconvenienced over someone else's tragedy.

I think it's selfish, and not just because of the delays, think of the poor people who have to gather his bits together, and the poor driver. Not nice.

Yep I think you will get a mixed reaction in any horrific and sad situation like this, recently a mother threw herself and baby son under a train where I lived, peoples comments ranged from horrified and damnation for the mother to sadness for her its never easy for anyone involved, I agree with comments he should of thought before his tweeted but his comments are really not out of the norm.

As Dave Cameron once said, "Too many tweets make a tw*t." ![]() Though, he can't talk, he's probably the biggest tw*t in the UK .

I've always found him rather obnoxious to be honest. Didn't he once say something about Jake Wood?

I was genuinely shocked that certain DS forum members above expressed the same opinions as the half-wit who tweeted the remark. Let us just hope that one day a close relative or friend of theirs does not commit suicide and inconvenience them. Some people - sheeesh ... .

I'm sure James isn't a bad guy but he seems really thoughtless and quite judgemental to me. But you know what, he can say what he likes no one is forcing anyone to follow him or read his opinions. |

The other day he was tweeting about 'slutty girls'

If he is posting obnoxious insulting, sexist, moronic and childish tweets, then stop following the cretin. He'll see the number of followers drop - and hopefully his Agents and the EP will too. Most actors are told to open Twitter accounts in order to publicise themselves - it gets the name known and is free. Ever felt you've been used ? |

Let us just hope that one day a close relative or friend of theirs does not commit suicide and inconvenience them. Some people - sheeesh ... .I do agree that it's an awful thing to do because I know the distress it causes train drivers. Many suffer terribly mentally themselves when they're driving a train someone jumps in front of but to complain about delays is sub-human. I think people need to ask themselves how much pain a person must be in to go to those lengths. If someone is that severely depressed they will be badly cognitively impaired, therefore it is very likely that they just cannot contemplate the reprecussions of their actions. It's not selfishness nor lack of consideration, it's a symptom of an illness they can't help having no more than any of us can help having a cold. |
