I go abroad a lot.
I bought my iPad3 nine months ago.
It's great.
I'm worried that my battery may pack up when I'm abroad.
How long does the battery normally last?
I may not be near a large town etc.
Is it possible to carry a spare which would then only need fitting (by a techie presumably, not me)?

My wife has had an iPad 1 since June 2010. The battery is still fine.

I think you will be ok.

You can't carry a spare, but you can get recharge packs.

It would be vey unlikely for your battery to pack in after 9 months, no reason why it shouldn't last years. An external battery pack as suggested above may come in handy if you are away from a power outlet.
