Abi's one of the best young characters on there, flourished nicely from a child actor.

Got to feel sorry for Abi though. Every time Lauren has a drink, another inch goes onto Abi's arse.

I can't abide Abi.
Once again she repeats the garbage that Mummy Dearest had planted in her mind for years - that everything that happens is Max's fault. Don't forget this was the precious little madam who, with her repulsive sister, run their father out of town TWICE, while Tayna stood and watched approvingly. Tanya is equally, if not more, to blame for splitting up the family. Perhaps she should have thought about what she was doing before burdening a seventeen-year-old with the 'secret' of her cancer, putting intolerable pressure on a girl who had been steadily drinking (and shown as visibly drunk) from the age of fourteen. But we get Abi spitting venom in the street, screeching like a little red-faced fishwife at the man who pays the rent and all the bills on the roof over her head. In Max's place I'd have told her to pack her bags and bugger off to Exeter. If she loathes him so much, she should trot off and move into the cosy little flat with Mummy Dearest. |

I don't know what it is about Abi but I'm finding that the actress is getting worse, not better.

BIB: Exactly what I thought when she was sitting with Dexter blaming Max for everything! Shame they've got her like this as she used to be the daddy's girl. Strangely I didn't mind her having a go at Kirsty as from Abi's POV without knowing the full emotional story it does look like a wicked thing to do, but to yell at her that it was HER fault that everyone had left was rank stupidity! Have a go about lying to her dad but she had no right to say that. There were problems with the Brannings long before Kirsty turned up! She's always had a sniffy attitude with Kirsty, I haven't forgotten the snide "is it yours?" when she found out Kirsty was pregnant based on nothing more than Kirsty's appearance whereas her mum looks mumsy/respectable but has had her fair share of blokes including her own brother-in-law! Yes Max disrupted the Branning house with his affairs but Tanya was the mug who either stayed with him (usually in exchange for a nice present though e.g. a beauty salon) or took him back after she'd chucked him so she's hardly blameless in screwing their lives up either - which she admitted on friday. The fact that he was married when he got with Tanya should have told her what he was like! And yes, she's more than old enough to be able to do a shop and arrange their dinner! I blow hot and cold with Abi. Sometime's I really like other, others like tonight she annoys the life out of me. On the whole she's OK though. Quote:
It's mostly Max's fault. Tanya isn't the one who had affairs which broke the family cohesiveness apart from cheating on Greg, who she was mismatched with anyway.
There would have been pressure on Lauren knowing about Tanya's cancer even if the whole family knew about it. |

Abi has been winding me right up for the best part of the last year now. Her petulant whining drives me mad. I would have loved Kirsty to headbutt the little brat tonight.

If she's going to behave like a spoilt little brat and blame Max unconditionally for everything, I wouldn't blame him for packing her off to live with Saint Tanya.

Spot on. Also when Jay knocks her up and she has to abandon all her dreams of university and become a mediocre dropout (like the rest of the young people in EE) she'll be begging the hated Max to fund her motherhood.
To be fair on Abi, relying on those cash handouts from Max doesn't usually stop her blaming him for all her life’s troubles; at least she is consistent that way. Consistently annoying. |
