When I say that I mean pay for and meet an 'escort'. Obviously there are male and female escorts so it could be either. I haven't but I know a couple of people who have boasted about it to me and I'm not sure what to make of it. One of them even has a partner, and now I know this about them...!
I was just wondering if anyone on here had done it or considered it or know of someone doing so and any funny stories involved? Maybe some have been or are an escort yourself? I'm not sure I'd be able to do it, though for sure there could be a few perks of the job! I think of that Billie Piper series, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, is that what escorting is really like?

Not because i have any moral or religious opposition to anything like that, as far as i'm concerned what two consenting adults get up to is their business.
It's controversial to say the least, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as all participants are there willingly.
If we had the Dutch system it would be a far safer, regulated industry and would be paying tax. It would also give better protections to the consumer as well as the escort.
If I had a long-term partner I wouldn't use those services. I still would consider it cheating even if there's no emotional bond, which is what I think you're getting at in the last sentence of your first paragraph.

I have no issue with it though and I do agree with the system that other European countries have, where everything is legislated and thus there is protection for the workers, including proper health checks.

I think legalising it to a certain degree would be a good thing - always have. And I don't say that from the perspective of being able to pay for it guilt-free, because I don't feel guilty about paying for it, but I say it more from the perspective of protecting the women involved, giving them proper healthcare e.t.c.. and, more importantly, allowing the police to divert their resources to tackling trafficking and exploitation.
And also, in more of a secondary sense, preventing many men from getting a criminal record for something relatively minor.
If I wasn't in a relationship I certainly wouldn't say no to the idea. A friend of myself and my wife has used the services of a high class escort on occasion and all in all, we think it's done him some good.
But I don't see anything wrong with those that do, as long as its a consensual transaction.
