I have mixed loyalties with this. While I love Doctor Who, I really enjoyed Broadchurch. Guess I'll root for the latter as best new drama and Smith for best actor.

The hardest poll ever - to vote for David Tennant or Matt Smith as best actor. I ended up voting Matt because it's his last series as the Doctor, but I felt like I was betraying Tennant.

The only way I could avoid guilt in this situation would be if the one that I didn't vote for won.

Which doesn't help me to decide which one to vote for....

If the loyalties cancel out, try to make an objective assessment of who did the better job of acting.

Oh, right, thanks.....very helpful.

(It's because I think they were both superlative that I'm having difficulty choosing. If I thought Tennant had been poor in Broadchurch, I wouldn't vote for him, and the same with Matt.)

There must be a way to do this by numbers! There must be!

Broadchurch was the best programme I've seen for years, so my vote has gone for DT, who I thought was superb in it.

Maybe I'll toss a coin.

I was torn between the two, but the speech in TROA swung it for me. Matt Smith delivered one of the finest performances I've seen on DW. Maybe even in any drama all year.

Tough one, Matt Smiths great but voted for David Tennant who for me put in an excellent performance (along with The Politician's Husband which should have been nominated as well)

If you haven't seen it I would highly recommend series one of The Killing (original Danish).

I'm contractually obliged to vote for the current serving Doctor.

Thanks for the recommendation Camera, I've heard good things about that show so will have to investigate.

Makes sense - that way you are voting for Doctor Who.

For me it has to be Matt. David is a fantastic actor, but because of Matt's speech in The Rings of Akhaten and because of his performance in Nightmare in Silver, he gets my vote.

David will win. He's still the public's favourite Doctor and Broadchurch was a real juggernaut of a TV show.

Voting Matt partially because he deserves it, and partially because I know he has no chance against David.

David managed to win Best Actor for Single Father, he's surely going to absolutely walk it with Broadchurch!

It'll be the 2014 NTA's that'll be most interesting, the four time people's favourite vs the goodwill for a departing Timelord.

Easy, I didn't watch Broadchurch so there's no contest
(though I suspect I would have voted for Matt anyway)
