EE: Ava + Sam + Dexter = boring!
At first I thought Ava was going to become a really strong character who would become quite dominant in the square, however I'm already so bored of her and Dexter. And the whole storyline with Ava and Sam is just boring and doesn't feel like its leading anywhere.
Maybe I've missed something but I'm failing to see what new things these characters have given the show?

I do like these new characters and I'm happy to give this story a chance, especially now Cora's involved. I'd rather watch Sam trying and failing to win back his estranged family than watch this pantomime Carl sleaze his way back into Kirsty's life for no other reason than he's a bit of a cockney geezer and he thinks he owns her.

I find this Sam very annoying. He reminds me of Dev from Corrie with his overacting. Is he EastEnders' answer to Dev?!
I like Ava a lot but I'm not feeling this storyline at all. The story seems quite isolated away from the rest of the show and the one thing she needs is to become more integrated, but she still seems like a character on the periphery. |

I like Sam and Ava, and don't blame her for falling back into his arms, he is a good looking guy, I think anyway. Don't see how Cora has the right to stick her nose in, either, she may have given birth to her , but has never been her Mother. Ava had parents and another life away from the Square for nearly 50 years, why does she never mention them?

I am yet to see the delight that is obviously Carl...

It’s not the characters I have a problem with – it’s the pacing.
One minute Ava is telling Cora she doesn’t want her in her life, and then she’s meeting up with her and inviting her into her home. One minute Cora is interested, the next she’s not. Then Cora is meddling with Sam, despite not being in Ava’s life when Sam was originally around. I don’t know whether or not any of them like each other. Sam has got back into Ava’s bed within minutes of returning – Ava doesn’t seem to care that he abandoned her and left her to raise their son on her own. I’d expect some kind of grudge. |
