Massive well done to Janet Devlin whose album Hide and Seek was revealed to Pledgers yesterday.

More details here artwork- please ignore the ridiculous review http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=98591&f=8

WOW i'm listening to it, and it's incredible!!!!!!!! considering she's not signed to a label or anything they've done a really really good job. Really puts Danyl, Laura(Martha), Ruth Lorenzo, Stacey Solomon with nothing materializing etc to shame who have been promising us albums for years!

I think a record company should back this, this could do really well - single choice and music video should be crucial. I think 'Things we lost in the fire' as a single. It's just VERY VERY good.

Well done Janet for proving Syco/Cowell wrong for not signing you. You listening Mr Barlow?

So happy this came through for her. She put in a hell of a lot of hard work and effort that is extremely admirable for a girl her age. She was my favourite contestant that year and I'm glad that it worked out in her favour after she was manipulated off the show by TPTB because of her domination of the public vote.

She actually released her album through her pledgemusic site on Monday.

You can only get it now if you pledged for it, otherwise you have to wait to September to get the physical copy.

Her album is coming out in general release in September.

She got a 3,500 pledgers who pledged for fan treats in exchange to fund the album. As a treat those pledgers received a digital download of the album but that does not count towards the chart as its not released officially yet.

This is ridiculous! Not sold a single record...she has released no single/album WOW

well she's kind of releasing it independently and when you do that getting your music in the charts is very hard to do. If it did get a lot of advertisement as well as Janet performing on a few tv shows it would probably do really well.

She's mental to leave it till September.
There were FLAC format and high quality MP3's downloads available on torrent sites first thing Monday morning.
Three months of lost sales!

Go her!!

I pledged to Janet's album months ago, but I only got around to downloading it this evening, and I am listening to it right now.

I am impressed, but I knew I would love it, as I loved her voice from the first time I heard it.

Well done Janet!

As a pledger...I have been able to get the digital download of JD's debut album "Hide And Seek".. It is absolutely brilliant. Stunning vocals, incisive & thought provoking lyrics and a beautiful sound. Thoroughly recommend it

Good for Janet. Some people on this forum seem incapable of understanding that having control and creative input over your music, which releasing independently allows you to do, is often preferable in the long-term to being a slave to your record label. I will definitely be giving this album a chance when it comes out in September.

I supported Janet all the way through x-factor, but the album was a huge disappointment. Crown of Thorns is an example of how the album should of sounded, instead we end up with songs like Wonderful, which is anything but!

The song's are all really crap...I thought it was going to be ethereal pop but it's sugary pop. Really terrible...I can't believe people actually spent money on this!

Yeah well done Janet - to flop so stupidly (at least the rest went down selling records).
