Galaxy S3 - decent wired hands free?
Mark in Essex

Hi there,

I was wondering if there is a decent wired hands free for the Galaxy S3?

The one that comes with it sounds to the person at the other end of the phone (have this with my work phone and several of the other people I work with when they use theirs).

I did not want a Bluetooth one as use it quite a bit and would have to charge it all the timeand already have a proper Bluetooth hands free kit built into by car stereo for my own S3.

Is there a generic micro USB one I can use (not bothered about using it to listen to music on so even a single ear phone would be ok)?

Cheers, Mark.

Maybe its faulty? I'm not sure if another brand is going to be any better.

Sorry it seems to be the same on all of them as I know 5 other engineers that have the same problem that work with me.

The last couple of HTC phones I've had for work the voice quality on the Mic has been excellent (even better that Bluetooth or proper handsfree).

Although the sound for music is great the Mic is crap.

I know your not asking for Bluetooth.... I've tried many BT headsets, most I can't seem to get the right fit but have had a plantronics voyager for a while now and is superb. Battery life is good, 7 hours talk time and comes with a little USB dock, so its easy to keep charge when not in use.

A lot of the time I have the headset on the dock in the car and if a call comes in I can just switch it on and get it on the ear with minimal of fuss. Connects within a second of been powered up and automatically answers the call as it goes through the power up.

When the headset is on but on, say a table, it recognises when you have placed it on your ear and will answer automatically too.

If its on the ear already and a call comes in then you can use your voice to answer.

Samsung s voice works with it also, so can use it to voice dial or send a message via voice, although that's a bit of a faff.

Thanks for that.

I'm thinking I may have to go back to one of my old Bluetooth ones (got a Jawbone one and also a decent Jabra one as well but always preferred the wired one until now as it's so much less hassle as don't even have to bother charging).

Cheers Mark.

Mark the modern bluetooth go for hours between charges. I don't use one as my total mobile usage per month is abour 30m but my lad uses one a lot as part of his job.

I use to get about 3 days use out of the Bluetooth headsets, but it was when I forgot to charge it for a few days and then realised it had run out.

Just a lot easier to have the wired one as don't have to remember.

Cheers Mark.
