Poor Jeff stelling. Gone from champions league to reporting championship goals.

Anyone know what channel the red button is on sky?

Quite funny though consider how smug he was about Sky having rights to some sports.

Brian Moore, Big Ron and.....Jocelyn Angloma.

Don't subscribe to BT Sports and never will. Horrible company. I don't support a Champions League team so will just watch Wednesday highlights and I certainly would never pay to watch Europa League.

BT's goal show a brilliant idea. Raised the bar for TV coverage in the UK

And I bet everyone concerned with Sky will be totally disliking nights like these.

Not an original idea however. Back in the dark and distant past, OnDigital had the OnGoals service which did pretty much the same job.

It really is raising the bar already. The "L" is probably about the right size and disappears for a goal and they're not showing pictures of the pundits, rather live coverage of matches where they think there could be something about to happen (e.g. A corner).

That's what I'm watching it really is fantastic. This has made sky's coverage look pants. Loving this show all the goals in HD and great coverage. Well Done BT on this one i have to say.

Sort of, the difference in my opinion is the live coverage (almost uninterrupted by studio shots). Oh the days of Angus Scott!

I've had a reply on Twitter from Chris Neilson (BT's rights manager), he's confirmed the Goals show will be shown on ESPN every match day going forward.

Judging by the posts here, excellent news for me and others!

Like the goals show a lot. But is the left hand bar with nothing but fixtures and adverts really necessary?

To be fair to BT, I think it's more to do with shrinking the coverage to fit the scores along the bottom - just because of the way the aspect ratio is, there'd be empty space on the left, unless they centre the picture and have black bars on each side - so they might as well use the space for something. They do show time elapsed, team lineups and stats from whichever match is currently on live action as well.

After my criticism of the "L" on BTS Europe (which I still dislike) I can't believe I'm defending BT doing the same on another channel In this case though, given what the programme aims to do, I think it's a good idea.

They've done this with the EPL on NBC though. Works better IMO with just having full screen for the game, rather than the stats and stuff. Personal opinion that though can appreciate others find it useful.

Content wise not a lot. Given the scores along the bottom, important to reduce the main screen to 16:9. The one thing really missing in my opinion is a clock, which would give context to the scores, just the time will do.

Considering this sort of service has been available on Italian TV and German for 10 years maybe more, its hardly revolutionary, its actually long overdue.

On a few occasions they've shown a time for the current match at the top left, when they were talking about one game in particular, but presumably they don't show a single clock in the context of all the scores along the bottom, because each match kicks off at a slightly different time, so it wouldn't be accurate.

Similar to what I said earlier when NBC did similar with the EPL they just went full screen on each game coverage and spoke directly over the commentary when necessary. That way you had the clock on every game and the needless stats. Surely the top right hand thing with goal scores rotating would be just as good?

Personally, no. On a presentation like that, movement needs to be kept to a minimum and reserved for occasions where something has actually changed. If something is endlessly rotating but never actually changing, you just become blind to it. So in this context, I think it'd be a distraction.

Great stuff, I was quite disappointed pre season when it seemed like I wouldn't have access to this

Glad it's as good as I'd hoped it would be and I can watch it going forward!

..not just in Italy and Germany but right across the world. It's nothing new and if it wasn't for the weekly TV blackout on football in this country, there wouldn't be much comment on it this evening because it's standard practice.

But very nice all the same BT, it does come across well.

The Goals Show has been absolutely superb. AC Jimbo at his best, really nice format. Howard Webb has really added to the coverage too. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

The goals show is great to be fair very impressive

Is there any option as a sky sports user with the bt sports pack to see the goals as they go in like there used to be on sky sports?

I've clicked the red button and can select all eight games but it doesn't show an option for goal alert?

Loving the goals show. The perfect format for JR, three knowledgable pundits as well as Howard Webb who is used very well. I like how they only show live action and key incidents (as oppossed to pundits speaking) and will be sticking to this every week during the group stages.
