A friend of mine’s got an HTC One V phone and there’s a problem with the memory card in it.
The phone does not recognise there is one in there. The card in question is a decent Sandisk 8gb Micro SD. It seems to work ok if I stick it in my card reader on my computer. I’ve tried formatting it on my computer.
I’ve tried another 4gb card of my own that I know works and it doesn’t recognise that either, in the Storage menu it just behaves as thought there’s no card in there.
I’m used to memory cards “latching” when you put them in a device – this one just pushes in and then you pull it out – no press is needed to release it. Could that be the problem? Anyone got a phone of the same model to compare how it fits?
I’ve also tried cleaning the contacts on the card and adding a bit of thickness to the card with a bit of paper so it presses more firmly against the contacts – no joy.
Any other ideas please?
