What I want to know about that vase was how do you A: keep the flowers in it, you'd have to virtually cut the entire stem off and B: there wasn't a lot of room for the water and it would spill out of some of the vases.

I think the base was hollow and the tubes actually went inside. You put the water in the large central section and put the flower stems through the tubes into the water
I assumed it was more for fake ornamental flowers. You know, those arty type ones you see in odd vases..
